The arcade is running a scam where they skim 20%+ of your tickets off of your winnings. Won the 2,325 ticket jackpot, and had the employees scan the card. With previous winnings + the 2,325 jackpot the total was 1,925. (This was after waiting 10 minutes for the 2,325 tickets to count up). They employees clarified that the system said the jackpot was 1925 tickets, so they couldn't do anything. I showed them the video/photos of the 2,325 win, so they gave back 385 and said it is all fixed. Asked for a prize a little over the ticket limit we had, they said they couldn't just "give away" tickets. Funny. You were fast enough at stealing them and lying. ---------------------------------------------------------- Feedback to owner response: ------------------------------------------------------------ 1) You offer other negative reviewers to email you with further information but not me. 2) "not a scam" The game in question is in the direct line of sight of both your workers at the counter. When they both approached me originally I told them I was waiting for the game to finish counting up the 2,325 tickets, they both saw the 2,325 jackpot with their own eyes. I commented on the jackpot amount and even pointed at it, they saw it. When it finished the count and they scanned the card they were adamant it was only 1,925 (jackpot + previous winnings) even after seeing the 2,325 jackpot for themselves. When I explained to them it was mathematically impossible the response with attitude I received was "well there is nothing we can do since you can't prove the jackpot was for 2,325." I showed them the photo and the response was fine, we will adjust your card balance to 2,325, for which I had to challenge them again and ask them how my previous winnings + 2325 added to 2325? They explained 1925 for the jackpot +385 difference. That would cover the 400 missing from the jackpot and the 80 I had one previously. I pointed out that in one machine alone we won 81 tickets, and we played several machines. But they dug their heels in on their fake math. So yes, I am confident this is a scam since your unprofessional employees lied to my face after seeing the jackpot for themselves. Lied to me about my previous balance, and then added the values together incorrectly and refused to fix it. I only got some of the tickets back because I had the photo. 3) Did this sour the experience? Absolutely. I would never go back to this unethical scam for any reason, I did have a good chuckle though when my 5-year old referred to your worker(s) as a "bad person."

Putting Edge is an indoor mini-putt and arcade with black lighting. Came on a Saturday evening around 6:20pm with one other person. There were only two people working that night and the line was long. We originally made an appointment for 6:28pm but didn't actually start playing until around 6:50pm due to the lineups. There was really only one person working the register and the other person was in the back rooms the majority of the time. There were several large groups ahead of us, so we originally wanted to get a refund, but apparently they don't allow refunds? They did offer to move our reservation to another day though, but we just stuck with it. They put us ahead of the larger groups since we were just a party of two, which I appreciated. I find that many people come here just for the arcade - which isn't much. There are only a couple of handful of machines and it's mostly families who play here. The prizes are your run-of-the-mill tacky carnival prizes too - nothing special. For mini putt, there are 18 holes and they're mostly a straight line, which makes things pretty easy. Some of their holes are more difficult than others, but the two of us breezed through the course in about 30-45 minutes. The 17th hole was pretty cool, as there's a slide (though I didn't go on it). The black light and decorations were pretty cool, but that's about it. I will say that their pricing is very affordable though! Great for a minor date night.

I would give this place 4 or 5 stars if it was run a bit differently. The establishment itself was great. Where it loses major marks for me I how crowded it was, and the fact that we spent 2/3 of our time standing around waiting for the group ahead of us to finish. Even the group behind us would be done the previous hole by the time we started the next, which made us feel uncomfortably rushed as they stood around watching us and waiting their turn. Most of the time the three of us were squished between holes, with no space to stand and therefore getting in the way of groups ahead of and behind us. Way too many people within six feet of us for covid safety, many without masks on. It could be a much more enjoyable experience if the groups were staggered a bit more, and if the time windows were based on group size. There was a group of 8 that was stalling everyone. Groups of that size obviously need twice as much time. Since you pay per person, this would also just make sense and would keep everyone safer.

Putting experience was not bad! It was my second time ever putting and my group made it fun. But 2 stars cuz one of the staff ruined my groups experience, they did not spend time to explain rules or terms/conditions and I felt mislead regarding their policies. Other staff was very helpful and nice tho.

We came in looking to play as a 6 player group last night, and I purchased for putting right away. As I was paying I mentioned we have 6 players in our group and asked if I could get a refund if my group decided not to putt. I was told YES so after about 5 minutes of reconvening with my group we felt that the hour wait was too long. When I spoke to a different employee asking for a refund, they started explaining that the policy was that we can't cancel unless its more than an hour before reservation even tho i was told that I could get a refund and that i had just paid- it would only go into points or as a gift card. The employee who told me I could get a refund? disappeared and wasnt even at the front desk anymore. I felt bad for giving the other employee another time but it created a pretty bad misunderstanding.

After the rest of my group paid, they were booked for the timeslot right after me bc they said our time slot was full? this wasnt explained to me either and when we started putting they were behind us on the course.

The next group held us up putting so we ended up playing just the 6 of us and around halfway, the employee who didnt explain any of the policies and told me i could get a refund shows up saying that we cant have a group of 6 people on the course even tho i mentioned that we had a group of 6 people, they only decide to explain this after our whole group had paid and was playing in their course?

2 of us started putting ahead and were still being held up by the group in front of us so we felt rushed even tho we had to wait for them to finish and our group was still putting behind us. We had even skipped a couple courses because we didnt want to hold up the groups behind us. That same staff member who told me I could get a refund came to the 2nd floor and was looking around n it just felt like they were checking on us.

It just left a bad taste when the policy wasnt explained to us and at the second last hole, the group in front of us joined the other group and became an 8 player group but the staff didnt come talk to them?

TLDR fun experience but ask about policies before you pay bc they wont make exceptions and theyll force u to play.

edit: to owner's response: my group and I have 0 problems abiding by rules/policies. just put a sign up or have your employees explain in advance instead of agreeing/misleading customers to think they can do something that they can't. we were fine not getting refunded but it's not good customer service to say you "can refund" while leaving out the "with a gift card". we are fine not playing in a group of 6, but tell us that we can't when your employees ask how big the group is. It was our first experience with you guys and we don't know that it's limited to 4 people per group. Nobody explained that to us at the front desk or at the beginning of our experience. Fortunately, another employee explained it but it should have been mentioned somewhere...

I usually don't post about a negative experience on Google but I'm posting this review to make people aware of the horrible customer service, aggressive attitude of the receptionist at the Putting Edge Scarborough location so that you know what kind of experience you receive for the money you pay. Hopefully my review could help a lot of people especially first timers who come to this place. Also, to the owner to look into it and take some action regarding this if you really don't want such experiences impacting your business.

I went with a group of 7 on Feb 24, 2024, we had never been to putting edge before. The lady at reception just handed 3 putts to us and didn't even explain the rules. We were trying to figure out the rules and meanwhile another staff member comes with an aggressive attitude and tells us why is it taking us long to proceed. We told her that it was our first time and we don't know how many chances does each player gets, the scoring criteria. She didn't care about explaining anything to us. They just us 3 putts while we were 7 players. Both the staff members seemed like they didn't care about the customers and i personally felt racially profiled and thats why we were treated such. We had reserved our slot online and still they didn't care to welcome us and explain the rules. It was a very disappointing experience while we came here to have a good time with friends. The place is beautiful with the vibrant colors but whats the point of it if friends and families can't have a pleasant experience...
