This is a really nice property, and after agonizing over where to stay in Santiago I’m thrilled I chose the AC!
Location: it’s in a great, central location, close to multiple subway stops & lots of shops, restaurants, cafes, salons, etc. - we were able to find everything we needed in a 5-10min walk.
Rooms: The rooms are large, modern, and well-appointed, with views over the city. I actually stayed in two rooms throughout my stay (I had two different reservations and chose to change rooms to take advantage of an upgrade to a king suite) & was impressed with them both. The 1BR suite is absolutely huge (separate bath & shower, separated toilet, large living room), and clearly set up to allow for watching TV/movies in the large tub, which I did!
Food/Facilities: I didn’t use the gym, but did visit both the AC Lounge & Luna Bar for food & drinks (fun cocktail menus, vibes, & views), plus breakfast in the restaurant. Breakfast was fabulous!! High-quality buffet with fresh-squeezed OJ, freshly-sliced Iberico ham, many savory & sweet offerings, and the ability to order a couple things a la carte (think egg or avocado toast or casserole) - all really good.
Service: I don’t usually write reviews (especially long ones), but felt compelled to write this one because of the service. I was confused about a benefit prior to arriving and had reached out & didn’t receive an answer to my email, and was thus disappointed when I arrived & shared that feedback. The manager Josefa was prompt, helpful, and incredibly kind in addressing the situation, and she and the team went above & beyond to make sure I enjoyed my stay. I was very impressed by the level of service & grateful for their help!
Overall a great stay -...
Read moreI stayed at the AC Hotel by Marriott in Costanera Center for two nights and had an absolutely amazing experience! I decided a pros and cons list was the best way to sum up my stay:
PROs: I visited in the fall and the USD seems to go a bit further in Chile than expected. That said, my room was a great deal! It was on the 19th floor and had amazing views of the city and the Andes in two separate directions. It also had a massive bathroom and in room tub. I ordered room service one night when I decided it was too late to venture into the city and find a meal. Once again, very reasonably priced room service and a delicious selection. The staff was very friendly. Almost everyone spoke English fluently but was more than willing to indulge my attempts at Spanish.
CONs: Unless you are big shopper (this hotel is literally in Costanera Center mall), you are pretty far from some of the main sights in Santiago. However, the metro is nearby and very easy to use. The surrounding area is also safe and easily navigable. One thing that bugged me was how dirty the windows are. It was a small gripe and certainly cold whether for window cleaning but it would have been nice if they weren't so foggy.
All in all, I would recommend a stay here. It was an American style hotel in the heart of a non-touristy part of Santiago. They also have plentiful amenities - rooftop bar, fitness center, parking, etc. Thanks for...
Read moreIt’s a nice hotel in a relatively decent neighborhood with a metro stop close-by (we did use the metro a few times and it was ok). After reading all the complaints about the noise coming from the rooftop bar, we asked for a room on the opposite side. This helped although the view is better on the “noisier” side. The breakfast is good (I was surprised by some critical views here) - particularly the avocado toast, which has to be ordered separately.|I was surprised that I couldn’t find references previous comments to the fact that the hotel “starts” on the 17th floor (this is where the reception is located), with no lobby as such on the street level. It seemed strange initially but we got used to it eventually.|The staff was kind but not always ready to go all the way to help you (not a big deal but still). For example, we couldn’t get much help with sending our postcards. Also, the hotel can help only with ordering taxis which provide services to the hotel (and are obviously more expensive than regular taxis). Uber is operating but still in a legally “gray area,” so the Uber drivers are preferring to start/end the trip further away from the hotel, being afraid of the police. We did use Uber several times with no issues, but opted for “official” taxis for our airport trips. As a final note, you can’t use a cash-card combination to pay for the hotel - usually a nice way to get rid of your excessive...
