This hostel is excellent for social travelers and backpackers. ||This hostel is run by the same people that run the hostel called Cienfuegos, which is close by. Therefore the two hostels can often offer the same amenities online, even though they are very different. ||Room: We stayed in our own bedroom, but used the shared bathrooms. The bed was decent with lots and lots of blankets. Everything was clean and our room included towels, however they did charge extra for towels if you were in the dorms. I saw the dorms and they seemed to be decent sized. No one who were staying in the dorms complained. ||Bathroom: The showers were decent sized and there were always enough toilets and showers, I never ones had to wait. However, it could be hard to get hot water, it often stayed lukewarm. ||Kitchen: Big and with plenty of space, although a bit dirty as many other travelers left dishes unwashed. There was ample fridge space and shelves where we could keep food that didn't have to be cold. ||Social life: There is a pool and a bar. The pool was not heated so no one used it as it was September, but I can imagine that it is amazing in summer. The bar had several types of beer, wine and cocktails and the prices were similar to other venues in the area. ||Groceries: The closest grocer store is Tottus (which is the expensive one) but there are several Santa Isabel stores on walking distance and a Lider.||Safety: The area is generally safe and touristy. Don't flash expensive phones or cordless headphones and you will be fine. ||Parking: Parking is located a few blocks away at hostel Cienfuegos. The two are run by the same people and the same staff works in...

Read moreThis is by far the worst hostel I have ever stayed in, and I would not recommend staying there. The walls are very thin, and the doors are not soundproof, so you can hear every conversation in the hallways. Additionally, the loud noise from traffic, shouting people, and the nearby club comes through the non-closing doors and windows directly into the rooms. Our bed in the private room smelled of cigarette smoke, and there was no trash can. The shared bathrooms were dirty, and in the men's restroom on the first floor, there was no toilet paper and the flushing mechanism didn’t work, leaving everything from the previous guest behind. The communal kitchen was extremely filthy, with dirty dishes everywhere. The water in the pool looked extremely dirty and germy. The hostel is located very far from the tourist center, the historic district, and the trendy neighborhoods. I honestly disliked everything about this hostel, and it felt like the staff didn't care at all about selling such a...
