The food was exceptional, the quality was better than average. For this price, really well deserved.
Highly recommend the mussels in white wine sauce, the sauce is flavorful but not salty very well balanced and the mussels were cooked perfectly (hard to find perfectly cooked mussels in Hong Kong). Had the Foie Gras, again cooked perfectly that the center is slightly pinkish, but personally I prefer to have a slight crunchy crust on the outside. The roast suckling pig, the skin was crispy like Chinese suckling pigs but the meat was so tender and soft it just melts in your mouth (also recommend to try). The duck confit was also very tender but personality would like the skin more crispy too. Overall all their food the flavors are so well balanced, the taste was so comforting throughout. And definitely don't miss their dessert! We were only able to stomach the creme brulee, it was such a creamy custard/pudding texture and the aroma from the vanilla beans was divine.
Even though they are situated in a cooked food center, their service is attentive on par to what you get in 5 start hotel restaurants.
The price as a cooked food center isn't cheap but comparing to other western restaurants serving this quality in Central/Sheung Wan definitely a deal.
It's always packed so recommend booking a table (if you can dial through) or come later in the evening on a weekday to test your luck if any table has...
Read moreI had high expectations for this place, though ultimately the dining experience fell flat, very flat. To keep it simple, over priced with tiny portions. The flavour was good, however the small portion was nothing short of insulting, I left still feeling hungry, very hungry. I ordered the beef Short Rib at $228. The reality is I can go to a quality restaurant in Hong Kong that serves food that is at least of the same standard as this place, with the quantity literally three times the size, with a price 20% less, a premiss that would also be paying massively higher rent compared to this stall at a council cooked food market. The bottom line is you cannot really enjoy a meal that isn't even close to being satisfying and knowing that you are being seriously ripped off. The owner of this place must be laughing all the way to the bank. Let's just say I won't ever be returning to this place to eat, unless I have no appetite and more...
Read moreTucked inside a bustling local food market, this French gem delivers an unforgettable culinary experience. The ambiance is charmingly rustic, yet the service is nothing short of exquisite—attentive, warm, and effortlessly elegant. Their crispy pork knuckles are a revelation: perfectly golden, with a crackling exterior that gives way to tender, flavorful meat. Paired with delicate sides and a glass of wine, it’s a dish that bridges comfort and sophistication. The chef’s attention to detail and the staff’s genuine hospitality make every visit feel special. It’s a rare find where market energy meets refined French cuisine in perfect harmony.
The pistachio soufflé is a stunning blend of elegance and indulgence. Its delicate rise and airy texture showcase expert technique, while the subtle nuttiness of pistachio adds a refined depth of flavor. Lightly crisp on the outside and cloud-like within, each spoonful melts...
