Nestled within a mall at Causeway Bay business district. Despite not being a large store in terms of store space, its strategic location and convenient transportation in the commercial area have led to a relatively large number of customers flow. The majority of IKEA stores can be found far from cities. However, in Hong Kong it is a completely different scenario due to the limited of space.

IKEA has 4 retail shops in Hong Kong. IKEA Causeway Bay probably is the smallest shop in the city and might be the smallest in the world. Located at the heart of this shopping district next to the Parklane Hotel, they have 2 levels, with everything you could find: from kitchen, living room, bed room, washroom and even the garden, even this smallest store have furnitures and houseware from that you could find. You have to give credits to those that have done the design of this store. Perhaps it matches the small living space that is a norm in Hong Kong because of the expansive real estate.
They have also included a fast food joint that provides the infamous Swedish meatballs with the sauce. It also serves the very affordable hot dogs with unlimited cold drinks, i.e. if you can drink that many cups, and even ice cubes are included. It also provides mini pizzas, chicken legs, sandwiches as well. There are no seating area though, It seems that the visitors do not mind to line up for the dishes, get the drinks, ketchups, napkins and find your stands among the usually crowed small area. Eating without manner is something everyone has the cope, but most of them don't seem to mind, as long as the food is good, and the price is very affordable.
Oh! Just to remind that this is still a store when you are supposed to look for furniture...
Read moreIkea advertises its flexibility and ability to mix and matches for different items together to make it a lovely home. Yet, it doesn’t provide the service it promises.
I bought the Alex sets with drawers, thinking one day I might be needing to turn the draws to a study desk in the future, hence I didn’t get the wheels installed, leaving the option open.
Now, the time has come to be needing a new set of work desk.
So I went and bough the top wood with two legs and ordered it for delivery.
The service guy advertised to speak to the customer service lady at the cashier to make sure it gets fixed to the drawer as how it is shown in the catalog.
So I did. The customer service lady called me back and said they cannot provide the service as o bought the drawer separately…..
I was shocked… Then I told her to kindly cancel the order for me if cannot instal. There is no way I can manage the installation…
If that’s the case, I’ll just go Franc Franc and order a new set….
But delivery guy still called me Today and says he didn’t get instruction or cancellation nor the installation
So disappointed
One. What would you advertise on simply purchase a wood board then you can turn it to a desk if you have the Alex Draws already?
Two. Why would you have a customer service section if all they do is...
