Came here on a weeknight and it wasn't busy at all. It was nice to get away from some of the other crowded restaurants in Causeway Bay. The food served here is primarily Indonesian-Malaysian. Lots of familiar dishes on the menu, like Gado-Gado, Nasi Lemak, Soto Ayam, Beef Rendang and even Laksa. Kampoeng, which translates to village in Bahasa, has one of the best beef rendang in HK. Albeit a little spicier than the one at Sabah, but the meat is so tender and delicious you just forgive the spiciness all together. We also ordered the Soto Ayam (Indonesian chicken noodle soup) and it was perfect to warm myself up when the weather's cooling down, and whilst recovering from a cold. It had a tinge of spice in it, despite it claiming to be non-spicy on the menu. There is so many options on the menu, I look forward...

Been here a few times in the past before with no issue which is why I recommended the place for lunch with a friend for my last visit. But my last time I went with my friend, the server (short hair middle age Indonesian short woman with glasses) was extremely rude to my friend, raising her voice and snapping at her, pointing aggressively at the menu when asked about the dishes. She also forgot my drink but I did not want to follow up as she was the only server on the floor and I did not want to deal with her again. While the environment, food and prices are pretty good, the service by that woman was extremely unprofessional and unexpected as we simply came in to eat good Indonesian food and did not expect to be treated so aggressively out of nowhere. Pandan Leaf right next door has much...

The service is not good, a bit tricky. If you pick lunch set, you can't choose chicken thigh or chicken breast. Then we pick the usual menu (not set menu) so we can choose it. But, after a few mins, the lady came and told us the chicken breast is only 1 in stock (we order 3 chicken breast with rice). What is the difference between you pick lunch set (you can't choose chicken breast) & usual menu (you also can't say anything when they said the chicken breast is only 1)?? In bill, we pay for usual menu, but what we taste is the "lunch set". Taste of the foods are mid. Rendang we also cannot eat, most feel like beef fat only. I'm Indonesian tourist, saya tau lah trik2 org Indo, apalagi chindo disana...

We had a really unpleasant experience dining here. To begin with, the staff wasn’t always around. It took a long time trying to catch their attention. When taking the orders, the staff was unfriendly. The food took a long time to come and one of our orders had an insect on it. When we raised the issue, the staff laughed. It was then changed to a new one, but the food was cold. The rendang that came with our rice was so small - smaller than the spoon. Not only that, it was also really tough. It was full of tendons. When we complained, the staff said, “That’s just how we serve our rendang.” Even after 25 mins, the bakso was still not there.

Located at Indonesian food alley near MTR Causeway Bay. We were starving and by chance walk pass the restaurant. Had to choose between similar places selling asian food but decided to go to Kampoeng since it has various menu, snacks, and seems delightful. We ordered nasi goreng and nasi with beef rendang, absolute good taste. Service is quite quick. Staffs speaks English, Chinese, and Indonesian.
