Visited last month; Nothing too spectacular but still 5/5 stars from me because where else do you find such a cool structure! It’s also known for its traditions as well - I happen to bump into some locals who visited this place who prayed/asked for a partner. Saw some reviews giving 3 or 4 stars despite the nice remarks stated - perhaps it’s because they feel it’s nothing much haha. Would highly recommend from my point of view!

One of the interesting things to see along the Bowen Road fitness trail is the famous Lover's Rock. This is a 9-metre tall granite monolith that is believed to be an energy source for providing happy marriage to those who worship the at the giant boulder. You will find Lover's Rock up a zigzag staircase around 20 metres above Bowen Road. You need to look for the silver plated sign and red coloured shrines on the hillside. Just walk up the staircase. You will first pass an ancient rock temple, keep going to the very top where the staircase ends. That is the Lover's Rock. In addition to seeing the Lover's Rock, there are very good views of the Wanchai and Happy Valley area from this location. When sky conditions are favourable, you can see well all the way to Victoria Harbour and across to Kowloon.

Lovely stroll on the Bowen Jogging Trail up to Lover’s Rock. Warning for people who starts at Wan Chai Trail Head, there is a kilometre up hill as you can see in the last photo, if you put a treadmill on an incline at 15 then that’s about the steepness of this hill. On the trail there’s scenery of Happy Valley and surrounds. Later part of the trail there’s buildings over grown with trees and shrubs, looks abandoned from how unkept it looked although i could be wrong. This place definitely does not lack character. There’s a steep flight of stairs up to reach Lover’s Rock, with lots of idols and incense burning by locals at the location. A bit eerie on a cloudy day.

Great little bit of heritage nestled in the thick vegetation behind the hustle-bustle of Wan Chai.. good stairmaster section up to Bowen Road and then 150steps fur the up to this big stone with the offerings for lovers hoping to find their own soulmate, or one for their offspring! Sweet little secret spot to hear the serenity of the natural backdrop.

Up on the top of a hill. Will need to take a short hike. About a hundred steps up from the fitness trail, or start with the steps on Kennedy road which I did, then it's hundreds of steps up. Great view of the north part of the island - see photo. South side is blocked and can't go further without permission.

It's a decent little sight if you are nearby. Good view particularly at night. You'll probably be walking along the Bowen road fitness trail. Watch out for all the idiots jogging with no masks on and exhaling all over you. They don't even have the decency to distance themselves from people walking.
