Carmel Garden is a small public park located at the eastern part of Taipa Village just above the Taipa Houses Museum, lake and nature area. It is not a priority park or garden to visit but a fair place to rest and pass a bit of time if you are visiting Taipa or making your way to/from the Venetian and other Cotai Strip resorts.
I enjoy stops here on cool winter days and during Chinese New Year when flowers and decorations have been added to the park. Here you can also find a canopied area covered with vines, atop a few park benches. There is also a small hill top with a statue of Portuguese poet, Luis Camoes, the same historic figure for which a larger park and grotto is named back on the Macau Peninsula.
The views from the hilltop are nice. From this position you have a good view of Our Lady of Carmel church, the museum, lake and the Cotai Strip resorts and construction in the distance.
In the end, just a quick stop here will do. Not a park or garden worth targeting, just have a quick look-see if you are in the area and then be on your way to other...
