Excellent hotel with top notch quality service.I am currently still in this hotel. I am booked here until next week. So far I am happy here. This hotel was not cheap. For seven days I paid C$1500 which is roughly over $200 a night. I booked it mainly because I am a lap pool swimmer & I needed a lap pool & a gym to use on a daily basis. I almost cried when I saw the lap pool. It is absolutely amazing. Approx 22 metres long. The water is a little bit warmer but I’m not complaining being a person who is always cold. The gym is also fantastic with lots of variety of equipment .The attendants there have been nothing but extremely respectful with me.I arrived late at night & I checked in with Sylvanna . She is Absolutely amazing. Her English is impeccable, she is such a sweetheart. Throughout my stay, I asked her a lot of questions, for example where to find an ATM or even how to add a night to my booking. She took really good care of me & answered my questions thoroughly. She always greeted me with a smile. Everybody at customer service were extremely kind with me & treated me like VIP even though I am just an ordinary person. The place itself is quite high class. It has a beautiful gorgeous lounge with a piano & a restaurant. There are a total of 14 floors & the rooms are soundproof. I do not like the fact that there’s always loud music in the lobby however, this does not bother me as I could not hear anything from my room. I specifically asked for a top floor room away from people and noise. They gave me a room 1222 on the 12th floor, which was excellent. The bed was super comfy. The bedsheets and pillows smelled really nice. I had room darkening curtains. Wi-Fi was always impeccable never once had a problem with it. The TV had a bunch of interesting channels. There was super piping hot water in the showers & the pressure was really great. They provide you with shampoo, conditioner, body lotion & hand soap, which is a bonus perk! There is a tea kettle, espresso style coffee machine as well as a little fridge. The fridge is filled with beverages and alcohol & cupboards have snacks to purchase ( expensive)but I asked the attendant to remove those as I do not eat junk food, nor do I drink any of those beverages & I was quite uncomfortable having them in my room. Right away they came to fix that. There is room service (expensive) I found the room very cold as there is no heating. Only air-conditioning. Bogota is cold! The blankets were also really thin but right away, they brought me a big blanket & a heater. Even that was not enough to keep me warm so I had to take the extra thick bath robe provided in the room & use it on top of everything which worked. There is a window you can open for fresh air if you’re not into air conditioning. There is a desk you can work at & plenty of plugs to recharge your devices. My only complaint was breakfast: no good options, no vegetarian friendly choices, no peanut butte, sometimes cream cheese, inconsistent day to day, bad quality bread and toaster not working. Bad service from waitresses: waited 20 minutes for them to toast. My bread, had to remind them as they forgot me. Unless you tip don’t expect any service from them. Since my breakfast was included, I didn’t like the fact that I had to wait for a bill which stated to add a tip. None of the breakfast staff ever did anything to serve me as I brought my own tea and made my own toast. So I felt really uncomfortable having to get a bill every time I went for breakfast and not adding a tip. I would recommend they remove that to allow people to just come in and out and eat your breakfast or at least ask the people their room number prior to coming to avoid having to wait a long time before leaving. The areas a lovely area and absolutely safe. All in all I highly recommend this hotel. It is one of the best hotels I ever stayed in. Thank you to all the wonderful staff for making my stay so pleasant. I will...
Read moreI am shocked that the reviews are good as they were. Perhaps they do a good job outside a pandemic. However I must say that the hotel is not doing a good job in many regards.
The hotel has a single door for entry and its locked. Sometimes you have to wait to get access. The staff are so bored they disappear from their post. There is no assistance with luggage. Travelling with a baby and a few suitcases and a stroller isn't issue, however they made no effort to assist or provide assistance on the way in.
The hotels' room loading practices are to place as many people on one floor. I had a corner suite and the adjoining room and the adjacent room were occupied during my entire period with various guests. The hotel itself was not busy by any means. Truly it was perhaps at 1/5 capacity from my lobby count at best, yet they are loading floors and leaving others empty. Didn't make sense, however I sure the NH media team will rush to rationalize my comment or bury it in top posted positive comments in days!
The Housekeeping was horrendous. My suite had two bathrooms, a living room and dining area and I had one hand soap and one hand towel. It took several calls to get my room amenities up to the standard they allege their property to be. Your not busy...make an effort to do room checks and stocking before your guest arrives.
The property also boasts that staff speak English. They are correct. One person at front desk speaks English. That is all! In fact, most of the staff play avoidance because they do not. Even a staff member with a British Flag on their name tag could not utter more than two words in English. The Manager Lara explained in an email that their staff even speak Finnish! She is out to lunch!
The Covid Protcol? They pump sanitizer and alcohol mats everywhere, however they don't provide basic facial tissues that even 2 star hotels provide for you to use to press elevator buttons etc. They force you to use sanitizer even when dining prior to touching your food, which we all know is not safe for digestion and causes more problems. If a guest is eating by themselves socially distant and has arrived from their room, why are you mandating they digest residual sanitizer when eating their toast? The staff also serve and remove soiled dishes wearing the same gloves. I counted 3 staff who went to the kitchen with soiled dishes and turned back around with a serving within 15 seconds. The housekeeper some days wore a gown and then other days she didn't. Again, she did not change her gloves once after cleaning my room or the adjacent one on three occasions that I was waiting in the hall for my room.
Room service was just as challenging. The APP they are using does not work consistently and they also don't prep their menu accordingly to their descriptions. The food overall was very disappointing, but for a hotel who is trying to re-engage clients to stay with them, they really have to get better management.
I am able to write this comprehensive review because I was at hotel with my son waiting for his passport for two weeks and you will be surprised with what can be seen when no one is paying attention.
The Front desk staff are great. They truly are friendly and helpful as they can be. I would not say the same for their Manager L.M.H. During my two week stay and after expressing many concerns, she refused to speak with me. When reaching out to the chain to discuss all the issues, even their GM A.M.G didn't make any efforts.
I do not doubt this brand wants to be known for style, class and culinary flare, but I have to admit other than location and the grandeur of their suite, I have had a better, safer and more sanitary stay at a Ramada in the United States.
I will have to assume many of those previous reviews are employee written, though the English is much better! lol
The hotel chain keeps flagging my honest review instead of making efforts to engage with...
Read moreBefore I arrived, I knew that I was going to enjoy my stay. I wrote to the hotel a week before I arrived and made a special request. In less than an hour, I received a response from Sra. Catalina Hurtado Londoño, the Guest Relations Manager. She was very helpful and responsive to my inquiries. Sra. Catalina made a huge effort to satisfy my request, but what I’d requested wasn’t available anywhere in Bogota. Demonstrating extraordinary customer service, she arranged for a gift to be waiting for us in our room instead. ||Upon arrival, my partner and I were met by a friendly and professional reception staff. The room, which had a balcony, was spacious, quiet, and well appointed. We stayed for a week, and housekeeping did a wonderful job servicing the room daily (thank you especially to Ximena). ||After we arrived, Sra. Catalina went out of her way to meet us to make sure that our needs were being met, and every time she saw us, she made a point of asking how our stay had been so far. She leads by example, and I think that’s why everyone there was so attentive and professional.||We had breakfast in the hotel one morning. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of selections for anyone’s tastes – fruit, arepas, wraps, oatmeal, omelets, cheeses, breads, pastries, and more. It was excellent. On a few nights, we went to the bar where Nidia and Zahira are the bartenders. They were friendly and fun, and when we didn’t want “the usual” they made great recommendations. One night, it was quiet in the bar, so Nidia asked me what kind of music I liked best, and she played it. We ordered from the restaurant while sitting at the bar, and our excellent meal was quickly delivered. ||I’m just a regular guy, but I think that anyone observing the service we received would have thought we were VIPs. If I had one regret, it’s that we didn’t stay longer…but we’ll...
