I recently had the pleasure of staying at Dann Cartagena and I must say it was a truly exceptional experience from start to finish. The moment I stepped into the lobby, I was greeted with a warm and friendly welcome from the staff. The attention to detail and commitment to customer service were evident right from the beginning. The room was nothing short of a luxury haven. It was spacious, impeccably clean, and beautifully decorated. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep. The view from my room was breathtaking, offering a panoramic vista of the city. The amenities at Dann Cartagena were top-notch. I took advantage of the fitness center, and the pool during my stay, all of which were well-maintained and provided a perfect opportunity for relaxation and rejuvenation. What truly sets this hotel apart is its culinary offerings. The on-site restaurant served exquisite dishes that delighted my taste buds. The breakfast buffet was a particular highlight, with a wide variety of options to suit every palate. ***UPDATE*** I was moved to another room which met my expectations! My current room is what I expected upon arriving. Excuse the mess in the room but you will see quite a difference. The best part was the beds, these were actually comfortable and didn’t feel like merely a box spring. And the rooms were set up as they were supposed to be based on what what I booked online. Two beds in one room a king in the other. Breakfast is decent. I enjoyed their pool and food options near the pool. The garlic shrimp was shockingly amazing. I loved the way they bring it out wrapped in plastic. The pool was nice as well. Original Post: Just got here and I’m not happy. The rooms do in fact smell like mold. You can tell this is an issue when you check in due to the tarps on the ceiling in the lobby. The rooms are outdated and very basic. Tiles need to be deep cleaned. The kitchen is terrible. I even tried to switch rooms but the one they took me to was worse. The second bedroom is just as old and outdated. The only thing that is good about it is the beach view. The hotel overall needs to be refurbished badly. Reminds me of places in Myrtle Beach, all run down. I didn’t choose this place and I definitely would never. The shower water was luke warm at 0200. Couldn’t get into the building around 1 am because security was asleep and there wasn’t a way to get in besides him. The bed is awful, ridiculously hard. Im guessing some of the rooms are more “up to date” and some of them look like trash, like mine based off of other’s pictures. I may need to update this post before I leave. Standby.

Wow where do I start. I traveled to Columbia for my 26th birthday and this hotel provided top tier service. The doorman, front desk staff and restaurant team were soooooo attentive. It almost felt like a family once you're there for a few days. They knew what I wanted to drink daily lol. The food at the restaurant was ok, but convenient so I cant complain. Pool was warm and VIEWS were AMAZING. I had a king suite facing the beach on the 3rd floor....breathtaking. The one delay I experienced was the balcony door not properly locking. The maintenance team arrived really fast to fix it, but it still didn't lock properly. The manager was willing to offer me the same room on a higher floor but I didn't feel like packing my things up lol. It was a big issue for me because I was solo traveling and needed to feel secure. Anyway, other than that very small issue, I cant complain. I highly recommend this hotel, you wont regret it.

Please is great, the Superior Suite with ocean view is amazing. However, there is one single thing that kills everything. The food at the restaurant. As part of a "4" star hotel the food IS REAAALLY BAAAAD. And I mean BAD. Asked for a ceviche, and the amount of black pepper on it was just unbearable. It was literally uneatable. Asked for a Caprese salad, and it came with lettuce, Gouda cheese and something that seemed like a watery pesto. When I asked the servant if he was sure that the cheese was mozzarella he said yes. I'm no chef but I think I can differentiate from a white fresh mozzarella from a yellow pasty Gouda cheese. You will see the restaurant mostly empty all the time. Breakfast are normal, bread, cheeses, jam, yogurt and some fruits. It's ok although the can surely have more variety. The place is nice but I don't think its a 4 stars hotel when you will definitively will have to other place to eat.

I stayed at this hotel for a weekend after a week at a conference in Cartagena. It was good to experience the contrast between bocagrande and the old city. Personally I prefer the old city, but that is not his hotel's fault. The location of this hotel right next to the beach is great, and I would highly recommend Windspot, just around the corner for some watersport. The restaurant was mediocre, but there are some nice choices in the main streets of bocagrande. The hotel did almost all I would expect. My largest disappointment however was that the pool was closed for maintenance. I had chosen this hotel as the pool looked great. They made one available next door, but that was not as good as this one looked. The maintenance they are doing looks professional, and I'm sure the pool will be an asset to the hotel once again in a month. But for me, I was unlucky with timing and it cost them a star from my experience.

Horrible amenities. My room smelled like dirty wet clothes (due to the old AC filter I imagine), there’s a constant group of staff pouncing on you for tips as soon as you enter which is overwhelming. If you want friends to come over, they’ll have to pay $30. “Fitness” center is big enough for two at a time. There aren’t ANY modern amenities like USB ports to charge your devices or upgraded TVs or channels & my room was basically falling apart 😒. My request to have certain things fixed like lighting, broken toilet seat, and TV never happened. I basically gave up & found another hotel. AC unit couldn’t be adjusted. Wanna go hangout at the beach? Make sure to bring money with you because they do charge TO SIT at the beach. DO NOT SPEND YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY HERE The only good part were the balcony views.
