Upon entering the historic center of Cartagena de Indias, and walking through its streets, it is inevitable not to be amazed by its colonial architecture, the colors with which the houses are stylized and, above all, the flower curtains that adorn the roads of the walled city, seeming to be a magical and wonderful place, since in each place of the stone coral you can breathe peace, tranquility and a unique floral aroma of the Caribbean coast. However, when crossing the Plaza de Santo Domingo, it is impossible not to feel admiration for the fat Gertrudis, a jet-black woman, with voluminous curves, naked, with a pose that makes her an empowered woman and proud of every part of her body, making it unique among all the residents and foreigners who come especially to visit it, and touch it for good luck in love.

Something you definitely won't miss while walking through the Plaza de Santo Domingo. It's a nice sculpture, showing the proud curves & voluptuousness of the Colombian woman. Legend is that if you rub it, you'll have good luck. The irony is that it front faces right in front of a church. Worth a visit. You'll see the line waiting for pics.

This true treasure is well worth the walk. Not Only to see but to touch. And watch tourists having fun around the statue. The old Cartagena town looks new, restored, full of character and fabulous restaurants. One down side is the amount of tourists fighting for a table at a restaurant, the heat and the prices. But back to Botero, a masterpiece. Enter the Church opposite....
