Yes! Yes!! Yes!!! ABSOLUTELY!!!!!|Do you like to feel safe and at home?|Do you like to feel authentically welcomed? |Do you like amazing hospitality?|Do you like to feel that you are not a burden by asking so many questions?|Are you looking to impress you partner with the most romantic package? |Casa De Alba is what you are looking for!!!!! Stay here! I don't want you to miss out on one of the TOP things to experience in Columbia; hospitality and love. The thought and effort that they put into making our stay was absolutely above and beyond. Laura was ABSOLUTELY amazing. I had tears in my eyes when we had to check out. She made my wife feel the MOST SPECIAL, when she decorated our room and when we worked together to set everything up. If I am able to post the picturecI will. My Wife SCREAMED with JOY when she saw the details of the decorations. The rose petals were lined up and in perfect formation, not just tossed. We only stayed 3 nights, but it felt like we were there for much longer with the amount of time they would inform us about the city, or help us plan something. They sent us links, they suggested special spots, they helped us with reservations. They made us feel like family. Vanessa was right there to take over when Laura's shift was over. And she kept making sure everything was up to perfection. Thank You so Much Vanessa and Laura. We really feel so special. Carlos and Antonio, you both went above and beyond ALL of the time. I would ask them for coffee and random times and quite a bit, and the would run up to get me some. They wouldnt let me carry it back on my own, they would want to deliver it to my room. ABSOLUTELY outstanding. They wanted to do everything they could to provide us with the best service. And they served us with love and smiles at all times. I couldn't break their smile even if I tried. They really served us with full love and joy. And I asked them for at least 14 cups of coffee at random times during our stay. Leaving was the hardest part of our stay. There wasn't one standard moment. Everything was far above.|The room, ABSOLUTELY beautiful! Historic with beautiful local authentic decorations. From the second you knock on the door you can feel the history in the walls. The bed was soooo comfortable. Beautiful balcony view for breakfast. Listening to the thunderstorms in the room with the AC on(🤣)was such a beautiful experience. |YES! YES!! YES!!! ABOSULTELY...
Read moreThank you Casa de Alba for the amazing time you offered us. The decor is breath-taking, with exceptional attention to detail. Spanish Colonial architecture is a dream.
As soon as we arrived near the hotel Rafael carried our bags around a block. He was attentive to our children walking with us making sure we were all ok with his pace.
At Arrival Edwin was gracious, sending off for our welcoming mojitos and virgin lemonade mojitos for our kids. He asked if we needed dinner or dinner reservations. He took us to our amazing room which was two floors with a walk-in wardrobe room, and balcony facing the Church of Santo Domingo.
The following morning Edwin had arranged for us to go to the Island of Rosario with the kids. When we woke early for breakfast, the morning waiter had not arrived but Marta the housekeeper quickly helped us, offering us breakfast and coffee, before leaving on our boat trip. After returning from a late dinner our room felt a little warmer than before due to the high heat from the day. The evening Receptionist offered to switch us to a smaller room (one of the few rooms available) for the night to a cooler room that did not receive so much during the day. We thought what a thoughtful gesture after a long day at the island and late dinner with a long wait. We were exhausted and needed a good night's sleep.
The following morning Edwin asked how our island trip and dinner reservation had gone, both we reserved and recommended by Ediwn. He suggested a fantastic brunch spot after we spent the morning enjoying the pool.
During check-out we discussed the miscommunication we had via whatsapp message before checking-in and an email I received before checking-in. Edwin was able to explain the mixup as well as Thomas the Hotel Director of all three of hotels came right over from another hotel during our checkout to personally apologize for the mixup and comped our kids snacks and all drinks, including alcohol.
We personally could not have asked for better service. My only regret was not booking our stay for longer. Unfortunately the hotel was fully booked for the next day.
Thank you again to all the staff for the personalized attention. All staff greeted us throughout our stay with kindness, smiles, and were helpful. We received a top notch service. We can't...
Read moreSince I can't reply to the hotels response, I'll set some details straight here: The rate was $120 on our end, not sure what the $40 is, but $120 is very normal pricing for a nice hotel in Colombia. This can be confirmed through a simple Google search. I also have never felt the need to call hotels directly to confirm bookings when I have an email from a reputable company confirming it and have paid already. It's never been an issue before. I absolutely wasn't screaming. I was too confused to even be angry in the moment. I have no idea where the "famous" traveler thing came from. This is completely fabricated and laughable. They did not explain anything about not letting others in because a family was there. That's the main thing that I complain about in the review - the total lack of explanation and hospitality. From the moment they opened the door, they were unpleasant, even before knowing what we were there for or allowing us to speak. It wouldn't have cost them a thing for the staff member to be friendly. We booked through Hotels.com, not Expedia. But, as I said, the mistake was seen across all websites, so it's not surprising the hotel has this detail confused.
We booked this hotel through Hotels.com and arrived yesterday only for their doorman to be extremely rude and not honor our reservation. They made a mistake in their pricing (across all websites - every website had this price, Booking, Trivago, etc.) and priced it lower than their actual rate. At the door, they were rude, didn't even apologize for their mistake, and acted as if we" had done something wrong. They didn't offer to let us into the lobby to correct the mistake (we could have paid the full price) or even just to have a place to sit while we found a new reservation.
They just left us in the street with all of our bags and nowhere to go due their mistake (it couldn't have just been Hotels.com, as the price showed on EVERY website the same.) Even people on the street were shocked by how rude the man who worked there was.
It's one thing for a logistical error to happen. It's another thing to have a total lack of hospitality, be totally rude, and leave people stranded. I've travelled 20+ countries and lived abroad for 4+ years and NEVER experienced this...
