Not the best restaurant in Cartagena but in the top 5. I'd disregard the reviews about fillet mignon etc. It doesn't make sense to come to a.famous port city and order something that doesn't come from here. Moving on, I ordered the sea bass. It wasn't overly salty which makes this place my #2 favorite in Cartagena. Socoro is the best. The sea bass was very good. The coconut rice and fried plantains weren't overly sweet. The service was excellent. The meal came with some bread that was obviously fresh baked, extra points for that. I ordered a mojito and it was huge compared to the other size drinks I've received. Overall everything was more or an American size which I like as a big boy American. I'm not saying that because I'm proud of it but this is just how we're used to things so many nights I've had 2 dinners in Cartegena. Not so tonight! I'd give this place 5 stars except I just can't in good conscience given how good Socoro is. I have nothing bad to say about this place. It's an excellent deal. If you're looking for something just a touch more authentic, not that this isn't, go to Socoro in Getsemani. We celebrated my dear friend Paula’s birthday at San Sebastián in Cartagena, and I honestly can’t stop thinking about how magical the night was. From the very beginning, the owner Dubis made us feel like family. You could sense her love and pride in every detail of the space, and it truly set the tone for the evening.

Mártiris, one of the amazing staff members, was an absolute gem—kind, attentive, and so thoughtful throughout the entire night. Every guest felt genuinely cared for, and that kind of warmth is something you just don’t find everywhere.

And the food… wow. Every single bite was unforgettable. I’ve had amazing meals in my life, but this was hands down the best food I’ve ever had. You could taste the love and creativity in every dish. Our table was full of laughter, wine, incredible flavors, and such a joyful energy—it was one of those nights you never want to end.
