I had no intention of buying an emerald when I was in Cartagena. But my husband saw so many stores and told me to go and look. The stores I went to were high pressure, had very pretty jewelry, but I did not feel comfortable. I was unsure if they were reputable, or if I was being set up. I did some research and leaned a little bit more about what to look for when purchasing an emerald. I also looked on Google for reputable jewelry stores. that’s how I found Lucy. The experience was totally different. I felt confident that I was not getting ripped off. I ended up purchasing a white gold emerald ring within my budget, which wasn’t much, but they treated me with the same respect, and gave us more knowledge about emeralds . They even helped me pick out the best quality one that I could afford. I am very happy with my purchase of a simple, but beautiful emerald and it will always be a beautiful reminder of Cartagena. They also gave me all the information so that I can get the tax refund at the airport. It was easier than I anticipated. Amazing experience, came here after doing research on where to buy emeralds and I’m glad I did. The staff was very attentive and patient with me picking out a pretty silver ring with a teardrop shaped emerald. They explained how the size, cut and finish comes into play when picking emeralds and advised out of the rings I had in mind which was the best emerald. I thought the price was beyond reasonable, and you could go in and find something nice with less than $150 USD to spend. All of this said, I think what struck me the most was that the staff still attended to me just the same picking out my silver ring, and my friend with her very simple silver necklace even when a woman walked in with her partner and headed straight for the more expensive gold pieces. The staff easily could have blown us off but they were so incredibly professional and treated us the same as the others with way more to spend. As two college students, we really appreciated this and plan to come back here for some of those bigger gold pieces when we begin working in our fields. I can’t recommend this...

Great service from Danis & Harold. They were very welcoming, friendly & informative. I wanted to make a purchase with one of them, specifically earrings, but stopped due to my interactions with Alejandra. Towards the last 10 minutes of my shopping experience, she came behind the desk, office area and invited herself into my conversations with Danis & Harold. Her presence was unwelcoming and made me feel uncomfortable due to her questioning me about why I was there and taking pictures. I told her they were for my friend. As I was waiting for my friend’s response about the earrings, Alejandra was talking to Harold about me under her breath in Spanish, as if I wouldn’t be able to understand her. Not that it matters, but I’m bilingual in Spanish & English. From there, I thanked Harold for his services and told him I was leaving due to Alejandra.
