There is no doubt the view is great. However, the cocktails are expensive and bad - only go for beer or a fizzy water. We ordered a pisco sour which was basically just sugar syrup and so horrible we tried sent it back (not something we do lightly!) but it was such an ordeal that this is the reason we feel we must write a poor review. First off the waiter said if we changed the drink he would personally have to pay for the drink we sent back which didn’t sound right or fair for him. I asked to speak to someone who could speak English and everyone pointed me in the direction of the manager - who ignored me and refused to come over. Eventually I went to him and asked if he spoke English and he said he didnt. Which I suspected was a lie given all his colleagues said he did, and I confirmed it later with the hotel reception who said he spoke English and should have been able to help. Convenient he forgot he spoke English when there was a problem. I spoke Spanish and explained the issue and the manager was unbelievably rude and unhelpful. In the end the issue seemed to sort itself out but after wasting 30 minutes of my time for something that should have been quick. I received a gin and tonic instead which was also rubbish - the tonic was flat. I couldn’t be bothered to say anything but it meant we left unsatisfied. So my advice - is go for one beer and the view only. Don’t go for good service or...

Very nice property however the staff at the front desk will make you feel like you are at a one star hotel. I am a Hyatt Globalist and I booked a free night with Hyatt points. The front desk at first told me that they don’t recognize Hyatt free nights and I would have to pay the nightly rate. I called Hyatt support who in turn called the front desk to tell them they must accept the free night…the staff at the front desk told them “no”. Hyatt support escalated to their manager who called the front desk and again, the staff at the front desk told Hyatt management “no”. Eventually Hyatt management was able to get in contact with the management of the hotel to let them know what was going on and after an hour, the front desk staff finally agreed to let me checkin…but then she still insisted she had to contact Movich support for one last confirmation which took another half an hour. What’s worse, after all that time, Movich offered me no apology or even some kind of recourse for missing my dinner reservation. (Hyatt on the other hand was GREAT and apologized profusely and provided me 15000 points for having to go through this).

Not having proper training and having a rude demeanor are not a good traits for a person working the front desk of a luxury hotel. If everything goes right this is a nice hotel…but be prepared to be treated like a second class citizen if there...

Movich Hotel Rooftop Restaurant: The Movich Hotel Rooftop took me completely by surprise. It is located atop Hotel Movich Cartagena De Indias, a stunning luxury accommodation belonging to the exclusive and highly notable “Small Luxury Hotels of the World.” I had read many reviews and blogs prior to visiting that said this rooftop is “overrated” and “overcrowded.” I am soooo glad that I ignored those opinions, because Movich Hotel Rooftop is absolutely stunning, and provided me with the best sunset I’ve ever seen in my life. Movich Hotel Rooftop is an excellent vibe, with a nice floorplan layout and enjoyable upbeat tropical music. The food and drinks are delicious. I ordered a ceviche and sipped on a lychee martini and another pretty fruity cocktail while we waited for the sun to set. The sunset view from the Movich Hotel Rooftop is simply mind blowing. The way the sun shines over the water, reflects off the tall new-city skyscrapers in the background, accompanied by the old architecture of the walled-city in the foreground, and lights up the sky in bright-warm colors is a core memory that is forever painted in my mind.
