It started out very well with a lot of attention from our waiter Leo, who then had a good English (we were the only ones apart from a family on their phones). We had wonderful, exquisite, entrées (one of them that we didn't order) and the service of the dishes was somewhat overdone, which went with the look of the place.
Then came the main course. We were 3 and we ordered 2 dishes to share, as we had shared 4 entrées and we were getting quite full. But then came 3 plates, the one we didn't order with a massive piece of meat on it. It was quite embarassing. We told them we didn't order it but by then none of them spoke English and Leo was then just mumbling behind his mask in Spanish (my girlfriend understood that we had to have 3 meals in order to share, which makes no sense) At that point, the overdone service was clumsy (Leo insisted on serving us on our plates, after repeatedly being told we'll manage) and he started talking about Salt Bae (why). Then he left and we never saw him for the rest of the meal. The 3 main courses were flat, boring, and very average, considering the quality of some of the entrées.
Then came the cherry on the sundae. The other waiters took over the service (or clearing the dishes in our case). We just sat there, with empty glasses and no bottles on the table, one of them ticked after a while and asked us if we wanted water (a high class restaurant doesn't ask if we want water) and after an obvious yes, he filled our glasses to the brim (slow down buddy). As we waited for the bill (more than 15 min) Leo was still nowhere to be seen. The water boy cleared our plate clumsily.
The bill came and hoho surprise, the piece of meat was double the price of anything else (it wasn't even good!) So obviously we didn't leave the voluntary propina after such a service (can we even call it service at that point or is chore more convenient for what their work looked like to them). The waiter came to our table and counted the money in front of us, twice. Shocking. Rude. This is not ok. Of course we had to tell him we weren't giving him any tip (he didn't argue, he must have known how poor the service was).
I do not recommend this place. This is overpriced food. The service is terrible and it's a shame because the entrées were really really good and the first 15 min with Leo as a waiter were...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at this fantastic restaurant for the second time, and once again, it exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted by the warm smile of Leonardo, our server, who made us feel right at home. His genuine hospitality and attentiveness throughout the entire meal truly enhanced our dining experience.
Let's talk about the food, which was absolutely phenomenal. I decided to try the salmon this time, and it was cooked to perfection. The salmon fillet was tender and flavorful, with a beautifully crisp sear on the outside. Every bite was a delightful blend of succulent fish and subtle seasonings, leaving me wanting more.
The shrimp rice was also a delightful surprise. The combination of plump, juicy shrimp and perfectly cooked rice created a mouthwatering symphony of flavors. It was a true culinary delight that perfectly complemented the main dish.
What really sets this restaurant apart is the outstanding service and attention to detail. Leonardo's exceptional professionalism and warmth made us feel like valued guests. He went above and beyond to ensure that our dining experience was flawless, catering to our needs with a friendly demeanor and prompt service.
The ambiance of the restaurant is another noteworthy aspect. It strikes the perfect balance between elegance and comfort, creating an inviting atmosphere that is ideal for any occasion. Read moreA Delightful Mediterranean & Caribbean Fusion Experience
My recent visit to this Mediterranean/Caribbean fusion restaurant, “El Burlador” was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance captivated us with its romantic setting—soft lighting, intimate seating arrangements, and subtle background music that enhanced the overall experience without overwhelming conversation.
What truly elevated our dining experience was the remarkable service provided by Leonardo and Adanis. Their professional yet warm approach made us feel genuinely welcomed and valued. Leonardo's extensive knowledge of the menu allowed him to make thoughtful recommendations tailored to our preferences, while Adanis ensured our glasses were never empty and each course was timed perfectly. Their attentiveness was consistent throughout the evening without ever feeling intrusive—a delicate balance that exemplifies true hospitality.
The culinary journey began with their signature red sangria, a perfect blend of robust wine, dried fruit, and subtle spices that set the tone for the meal to come. Each sip offered a refreshing prelude to the feast that awaited us.
The star of our evening was undoubtedly the bull rib—a masterpiece of culinary craftsmanship. The meat was tender and succulent, falling off the bone with minimal effort, and seasoned with a harmonious blend of Mediterranean herbs and Caribbean spices that created a unique flavor profile I haven't encountered elsewhere.
The fusion of Mediterranean traditions with Caribbean flair created a dining experience that was both familiar and exciting. Each dish told a story of cultural appreciation and innovative...
