St. Dom Cartagena — Local services in Cartagena

I read about St. Dom in a 2022 New York Times article and I was very excited to check out the Colombian designers at the store while I visited Cartagena this week. I visited the store on July 26th and had a truly horrible experience. My husband and I were each followed by two of the three employees the ENTIRE time we were in the store. They said nothing to us, offered no assistance with merchandise - they just followed us for the 10 minutes we were in the store. There were items i was interested in purchasing but I could not support this business based on our treatment. As a black couple I have my thoughts on why we were given this bad treatment. My wife loved this shop! She and her sister found beautiful clothes, handbags, shoes at amazing prices. She purchased a one of a kind handbag that would have costs thousands of dollars at home. There were clothes of all sizes equally beautiful and as she noted “full enough for her to fill beautiful“. They enjoyed exceptional service and ongoing attention from the staff. In fact, she said they were super patient and quickly figured out their differing styles. She loved it so much, she has been trying to shop at the store online. Bad customer service. We made a purchase on the day of our departure from Columbia. All 3 shop assistants confirmed that we will receive the invoice (required for 20% tax return at the airport) via email within 1 hour. Unfortunatelly we didn't received it as promissed. We called the shop from the tax return office and they said it takes normally 48hrs to issue the invoice and for sure not 1hr - so they obviously lied to us. I would expect a bit more from a shop positioning itself as premium (selling dresses priced at 600$...
