I wish I could give it 0 stars. Avoid this place at all costs. Ordered two burgers which came to a grand total of €38. Pricey, but the place seemed nice, and so we imagined the food would be too. The burgers came with half of a small slice of pickle, and a tiny piece of bacon (see picture below - I had initially taken this as I simply found it quite funny how stingy they had been!). When I bit into the burger, it was immediately evident that they were terribly poor in quality and raw in the middle. The fries were also cold. After a few bites and left exceptionally disappointed, I left the rest (didn’t touch the chips) and told the waiter I really hadn’t enjoyed the food. My friend also left part of his meal. When the bill arrived, I asked the waiter to speak to a manager - and informed him that we would only like to pay for one meal, as I had not eaten mine and the food was incredibly disappointing. The manager came over after about 15 minutes and initially offered us a 10 per cent discount. We politely declined, and said we did not feel as though we should pay for the second meal that wasn’t eaten. The manager then turned immediately aggressive, and now demanded that we pay the full amount and even protested that I had eaten the food. He then escalated the situation by saying he was phoning the police should we not settle the full amount. We again offered to pay the €19, which we had on the table in cash. He then told me to leave if I wished, to which we stood up and in response he snatched my bag. Other waiters rushed in and grabbed me by the arms so I could not leave. I honestly couldn’t believe what was happening and how we were being treated! One of the waiters then snatched my friend’s phone from the table and walked off with it. The manager then called someone to come in (a approximately 6”5 stocky man) utilised as a clear form of intimidation, who again insisted we paid the amount. With reluctance, and with my friend’s phone in their possession, as well as the threat of violence imposed, we paid the full amount. The waiters came over with smirks on their faces and sarcastically thanked us for coming in, helpfully noting “how easy was that”, before thankfully handing back my friend’s phone. An utterly embarrassing institution. Do not visit!

Tiny beach with a beach club. Was told by my friends that if you want to pay for the 2 bed and umbrella it's 70€ for the beach which is not sand and is cramped and you have no space whatsoever and nothing special really it's no worth it. We stayed on the other side instead. Which was also overly crowded. To the owner of the club: you misunderstood me. I went there with my daughter. I did not enquire about the price since my friend and her family did and she told me about the cost, we decided to stay on the side where there is no bed and lay our towels on the sand. I have travelled in many MANY countries, and in other UNESCO sites and the offering was better in size, quality, product, for about everything and when you had to pay for beds it was actually paying for food and drinks and the beds were then included. You never had to pay only for bed. There was no service on the beach, it is overcrowded and clients have no space, and unfortunately price is part of what is considered in the offering. Agree to disagree with you.

Beach clubs are a thing you just need to throw yourself into. Are they expensive? Yes. Do you feel like a low-rent soap-star whilst reclining on your sweaty sun-lounger? Yes. Are they the same everywhere in the world? Yes...Cannes, Nice, Taormina, Dubrovnik..all the same. So I'd never whine about the price when what you get is part of it all; attentive service, a good beach, chilled out vibes, clean toilets nearby, good food..and the chance to feel like a low-rent soap-star for the day. 😄 Banje Beach is no different, but the service is great. Really friendly people (the same all over Croatia it would seem). It's also the only beach in Dubrovnik and the only place you can sit back, glass in hand and watch the Queen of Dragons lay waste to whatever that fleet she toasted in Season 8 was called.* (*You have to imagine some of this) We had a great day that was no more and no less than we would have spent elsewhere. Loved it.

Came for a family beach day- we wanted a lux European beach club day with all the creature comforts (something akin to beach restaurants on the French Riviera with great food and service). This missed the mark on several levels.

It is a convenient beach club to the old town, but it is expensive for what you get. 400 Kuna for a double sun bed with two small umbrellas and towels that have seen better days. Price includes water.

Food was tasty (beach side menu included basics like burgers and pizza) and drinks were very good. Expect to pay US resort food prices however.

The Banje beach itself is very clean and perfect for kids (gentle waves and very safe) but the rocks to the right of the beach are litered with broken bottles, cigarette butts, and trash.

The wait staff is not the friendliest and finding anyone to take our orders was a challenge. After waiting an hour and unsuccessfully trying to flag a waiter, I deployed my kids to go place our orders.

All in all, this could be much better run, but since it's the only game in town (meaning within walking distance to old town), it seems to be packed no matter the...
