Views were fantastic. For just as amazing the view over the coast and Dubrovnik was, the view the other way with the dramatic peaks of mountains and landscape behind was breathtaking on this clear day. We got the 3rd cable car up of the morning, and we didn't have to wait anymore than 15mins, after arriving at 9:02am. €27 euro return for an adult on the cable car, but it only takes 3mins30secs so if you don't have the time (or energy) to walk up and down, then it's a worthwhile expense. Only disappointment of the viewpoint building was the toilets - awful! The standard of cleanliness was really poor, which I know doesn't effect the view at all but for the kind of providing facilities, I'd expect them to be clean. My partner came out from the male toilets and shared the same experience so it was both men's and women's toilets that were dirty, not scrubbed well enough and build up of 'scum' (I'll say no more) on the inner edge of toilet seats etc. Strange as they've got one of the more up to date hand washing facilities and taps/hand-drier systems but not an up to standard cleaner. It was also morning so we couldn't understand why it was so unhygienic so early in the day. Just sort out the cleaning, and it will accompany and support the (understandably) pricier gift...
Read moreSimply breathtaking. If you want to experience the greatness of mother earth and its nature, you have to come at this point up here on the hill. By cable car, even if you're affraid of hights, simply enter and believe that it's safe (which is 100%) and trust the cable car system. Be moved, touched and taken from all the energy that floats here, from different history moments. You can feel and imagine (even see if you close your eyes and concentrate) how the first settlers here came here and chose this place and why. You can "see" all the wars fought here and the most recent war, from where they put their artillery and were targeting the beautiful herritage. You can also see clerly here that the EARTH IS NOT FLAT, and that their "horizon theory" is wrong. You will get a better picture how scary big our...
Read moreHonestly, it was one of the best parts of my visit to Dubrovnik, Croatia. Mount Srd offers breathtaking views that a camera quite frankly doesn't beat seeing for yourself and really experiencing the beauty. Especially as I visited in the early hours of the morning to catch the beautiful sunrise 🌅. You have a great view of Old Town and the Old Castle, as well as the harbour and shipping lanes.
It's about a 20 - 30-minute walk, more like a hike to the top, and would recommend doing so during cool parts of the day. Or grab an Uber that costs roughly €5-20 euros depending on where you're travelling from, and they will take you right to the top. Makesure you have some water with you to keep you hydrated nonetheless.
Defo recommend visiting during your stay in...
