Maroldovo panoráma — Attraction in Prague

If you're a diehard fan of Czech history, by all means visit this place. But it was underwhelming to me, to say the least. The painting was nice, but it didn't blend with the decorations in some places, you could definitely see the place where the floor ended and the wall with the painting started, so it ruined the atmosphere a bit. And they could definitely do better with the decorations on the floor, there could also be mannequins of warriors and horses instead of just rocks and discarded shields or whatnot. Moreover, there were visible yellow spots and lines over the painting, it could definitely use some fixing. At least it wasn't expensive the audio was...

Proslavený panoramatický obraz Bitvy u Lipan, která se odehrála 30. května 1434 mezi kališnickými vojsky bratrstva a panskou jednotou, zachycený malířem Luďkem Maroldem z let 1897–1898, se konečně dočkal turistické vizitky. Tu pokřtili v neděli 20. května členové České pohádkové akademie, spolu s Klubem českých turistů, Městským obvodem Prahy 7, Turistickým deníkem a dalšími organizacemi přímo v prostorách objektu, za účasti starosty Prahy 7, pana Čižinského. Je snad toto dalším malým krokem k "humanizaci" a zpříjemnění odpudivého prostoru výstaviště, které už léta působí dojmem neudržovaného mauzolea?? Pokud ano, pak se (snad) máme na co těšit. Držme si palce.

The celebrated panoramic picture of the Battle of Lipany, which took place on May 30, 1434, among the Kalich brotherhood troops and the lord's unity, captured by the painter Ludek Marold from 1897-1898, finally got tourist cards. On Sunday, On May 20th, members of the Czech Fairy Tales Academy, together with the Czech Tourists Club, the Municipal District of Prague 7, the Tourist Diary and other organizations "baptize" it directly on the premises of the building, with the participation of the mayor of Prague 7, Mr Čižinský. Is this another small step to "humanizing" and making the Prague 7 area less repulsive and useless? If so, then (hopefully) we have something to look forward to....

Za vstupenku za 50 Kč pro dospělého nebo 25 Kč pro studenty má návštěvník možnost prohlédnout si největší obraz u nás, který je dokonale popsaný, takže divák ví co sleduje a zároveň má možnost poslechnout si krásně nahrané audio, které mě úplně přeneslo do děje bitvy a které krásně shrnuje nejen bitvu samotnou, ale i historický kontext. Myslím si, že jakákoli 45 minutová hodina ve škole o bitvě u Lipan dost zaostává oproti návštěvě Maroldova panoramatu, která ani 45 minut nemusí. (Audio má asi 10 minut a dokonale shrnuje celou bitvu i kontext a význam) I když já v panoramatu strávila něco přes hodinu, čtením všech popisků a hledáním detailů na obraze. Jen škoda, že železné popisky jsou někdy zlámané nebo už jim nefunguje podsvícení. Naštěstí se ale zatím všechny...
