This shop is a literal oasis amongst a desert of obnoxious and borderline harassing "vendors". We ended up skipping the street of the bazaar/souk because of the horrible behaviour of people there, and came across this shop on our way to our hotel. It was only after we appreciated the respect and honesty that we were shown that we realized the shop had a sign saying "hassle free" and it is 100% true. A family business of apparently around 70 years, the people there are chill, decent and respectful. They don't see you as a walking cash machine, they don't try to push ANYTHING, they provide you with all the info you might need only when asked, everything is crystal clear and straightforward and they will go out of their way to accommodate you without expecting something in return. This review is being written only hours after our visit because they deserve to be acknowledged especially when it seems that everyone else seems intent on ruining your experience as a tourist in Egypt. We are happy to have left out money there and this alone is the mark of a good and honest business. Ignore everything else and check out this shop first, the variety is amazing and you will definitely find something to make a fond memoir or gift here. Even if you don't travel solo like us but with an organized tour, insist that you come here and you will not be disappointed. Six stars out of five and love from your...
Read moreAta Bazar, right across from the iconic Luxor Temple, is an absolute must-visit! I actually found them on TikTok, where their videos showcase their amazing products.
From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with genuine kindness. The gentlemen offered me a delicious and refreshing glass of hibiscus tea, which was the perfect pick-me-up after exploring Luxor. And here’s the best part: when I accidentally broke my bracelet (which wasn’t even from their store!), they offered to fix it for me without a second thought. That kind of generosity blew me away!
Their collection of souvenirs is outstanding. I couldn’t leave without a set of four stunning canopic jars—beautifully crafted and perfect replicas of ancient treasures. I also picked up some personalised engraved obelisks, which they customised for me while we raced off to our sound and light show at Karnak Temple and it was all ready for me, perfectly bubble wrapped, on our return.
If you’re looking for a store that combines high-quality, unique souvenirs with the kind of hospitality that leaves a lasting impression, Ata Bazar is the place to go. Thanks to TikTok for leading me to this gem—don’t miss it when...
Read moreExcelent shop. He has a wide variety of products to choose from. Lots of jewelry, statues, alabaster vases, scarves and others. He has personalized cartouches. He personalizes some of the statues with hieroglyphics. We bought an Obelisk and he personalized it on the spot with my wife's and my name. As others describe, his prices are very fair and fixed. When we got there at around 8 PM we were the only customers in the shop for a little while so we got to ask all of our questions which he answered in detail. He insisted in his hospitality and we couldn't say no to his offer to have a couple of sodas, which, to my surprise he went and bought himself at a nearby store. Because of the products, prices and hassle-free experience we ended up buying a lot of products from him (several hundreds of egyptian pounds worth). Worth noting is that we visited the store at the end of September which is NOT the high season. He mentioned that he closes at midnight at this time. He also mentioned that he opens 24-hrs a day during winter time. Overall it was a...
