Hotel has a good location near the towns center. We had a nice view to the Luxor temple and Nile, over the near buildings. Hotels location is also one of the minuses. It's right in the corner of Luxor’s busiest roads, so the noise of traffic is quite loud. I woke up few times to the sound of praying call from the near by mosque . But as there are mosques all over the town, you can't escape the sound in the area. The staff is friendly. The hotels dinner consisted of four courses, starting with warm soup, salad, warm main course and dessert. The food was okay, I liked the soup the best. The desserts were usually fruit (two bananas or oranges). The breakfast was okay also. You could have toast, scramble eggs and some Egyptian specialties (we were afraid to taste, looked like meat sauce and smashed potatoes). At the expense of excursions - you can take a hotel guide, but we bought at the local travel agency "Seven Tours Hurghada", because my friend already used their services and was pleased. By the way, this is one of the best travel agencies in Egypt, their web site can easily be found on the Internet and on Facebook. We bought from them a guided tour. We liked everything very much! Very positive memories and impressions. The pool area was small on the top floor. The pool was good you could get pool towels from the bar and I suggest you get them as the lounger mattresses are quite dirty, the whole area just stays dusty( its the desert).||I can't say that the room was clean by the European standard, the fridge cover looked like it hadn't seen a cloth in months and also the tables. We didn't have hand towels or hairdryer. It was sometimes nice that the cleaner made figures out of the towels. But they were the same ones we showered with and they didn’t dry...
Read moreSlightly down at heel hotel in a great location. Stayed here as part of a group tour. Had a room on a higher floor with a spectacular view of the temple and Nile. Also a view of the comings and goings of Luxor; yes it is noisey but I love the craziness of it! Abroad is different! In all honesty with balcony door shut I could not hear the street. The room was a good size and decorated to a dated standard but it was clean. Bathroom functional, shower over bath. Plenty of hot water. Getting into the room was a challenge but having watched the cleaner wiggle the card key a few times I soon picked up the technique! On the roof there is a pool and some slightly broken sunbeds (mattresses available). You can also eat on the roof and get drinks if waiting staff are available. Food was acceptable; pizza, burger, omlette etc for lunch. WiFi worked everywhere in hotel. We were heading out early for the Valley of the Kings do had a breakfast box; standard Egyptian breakfast - bread, boiled egg, jam, cheese triangle etc. Staff in the hotel tried really hard to be helpful. On one occasion a member of staff nipped to a shop for us. Service could be a bit haphazard though. When ordering a beer in the downstairs lobby bar there was no bottle opener and the barman had to be stopped from opening it with other implements while waiting for someone to bring an opener from the rooftop bar!! (Reminding myself this is a Muslim country in Ramadan and that it is quite funny really!). This hotel's best asset is its location. You can walk to the souk, Nile, temple, shops, banks...
Read moreIf you’re here as part of an Egyptian tour (eg. Intrepid), ask your guide to speak to Reception to move you to a non-smoking room, if they do indeed exist. According to trip advisor they do but I’m doubtful. I asked to move room due to the stench of smoke in the room. I’m more sensitive to second-hand smoke than most, so I took my inhaler down to help with my case. I was told i can go to the room balcony. ||Blasted the air con and left the door open which helped with the smell. But the pillow still stank so had to cover it with my own clothes. ||Had a few hours to wait until our tour left the hotel. Tried the lobby for the air conditioning but got stuck breathing in other guests second-hand smoke. Tried the pool area but the only smoke free area was in 40+ degree heat. ||The breakfast packs provided by the hotel were three different types of stale bread wrapped in polystyrene and plastic and an old apple. ||Food and drinks we ordered were good, and some of the restaurant staff were nice. They were the only redeeming factor. ||If you’re a smoker, this place is...
