Don't expect a 5 star three course meal like in Europe, expect to eat proper and tasty food for one euro. Koshary is an absolute must in Egypt. A combination of rice, pasta, lentils, fried garlic, and chickpeas primarily with tomato sauce and side of optional garlic vinegar and spicy red sauce.

Even though there’s no protein in this meal and it’s basically all starches, it’s ridiculously delicious and an Egyptian staple.

You can order small, medium and large as well as extra sauce if needed. Some people pour on the various sauces as they go or add some bite by bite. Personally, I preferred it bite by bite.
