Went there while on tour in Tallinn.

This museum is actually a very beautiful gem. As a dance company touring a family show (in a different theatre sadly), we were very curious to know more about the famous connection between the country and the art of puppetry, as well as their work with young audiences.

I was really astonished by how much work had been produced in this theatre and the museum is a great vitrine of everything that has to do with the legacy of this theatre and the impact of puppetry.

The museum is very well designed for everyone to enjoy, to experience puppetry, see the technical but also magical aspects behind this art. The people who made this museum really poured all their passion in building it and it makes the expenrience of it really great.

From reading the review, we expected a very small museum (as in 2 rooms) but it has way more to offer with loads of interactive activities.

In my opinion, only a few point have room to be improved: the screen to watch the productions in the Time machine room could really be bigger audio guide would be a very good plus signalling could be made more obvious (we skipped an important bit at the beginning only to notice it at the end)

A MUST-SEE...

We got no expectations before we had visited this museum. I personally thought is going to be yet another puppet museum that showcases puppets an so on. But this place has way more to offer than just puppets. This is in a way a modern museum of theater for kids. It has multiple rooms featuring puppets, decor and setting , light and shadow theater, horror cellar (this was our favorite one), history and many more. Couple of hours that we spent there went to quick. We wished we had more time. I highly recommend this place for parents and kids....

Never did I think that coming to Tallin would encompass a puppet museum, but it was recommended by our AirBnb host and it was pouring outside so we gave it a try. Definitely pleasantly surprised as my kids enjoyed it more than I thought they would have. Very interactive for the kiddos so this is definitely a must see if you are in the area and wanting your kids to have a bit of freedom to wander around and play with puppets. We easily spent a couple of hours here and it was very interesting. Plenty of clean...

This is a must visit if you have children. My nine year old wasn’t thrilled about visiting a puppetry museum, but he soon changed his mind. It’s very interactive, with lots of opportunities to try different types of puppets. Everything is displayed beautifully, and there’s a lot to see even if you’re not familiar with some of the characters. The woman at the ticket desk was very helpful, and told us to be sure to check out the bathrooms, which were gorgeous. My children came out totally inspired. Can’t recommend enough.
