Excellent vegetarian cuisine in lovely milieu.
Should one be craving for a restaurant dedicating itself solely on innovative vegetarian food, this is THE place. Although I myself happen to reside in Finland, I am regularly visiting Tallinn, and find myself returning here time after time, having visited this lovely restaurant in numerous occasions over the last eight years.
Located in a well-preserved, rustique, impressive building in the Old Town of Tallinn, the milieu itself indicates the main theme of the restaurant: being sustainable can and will be done in a pleasant manner, satisfying all senses. The selection of cocktails, wines and other beverages is well-planned, suitable for practically everyone: aperitifs and cocktails themselves are delight to look at, and as tasty as one could imagine. The beverages are naturally ecologically and sustainably produced, including the impressive selection of local small-craft spirits and other refreshments.
The menu itself is a definition of perfection: every step and procedure regarding the dishes are extremely carefully planned, with selection to die for. Freshness of the high-quality ingredients is present, and presentation of the portions is meticulously planned. Visual perfection is equivalent to the impeccable taste.
The staff has always been as fantastic as ever. Having visited this place, I have always received excellent recommendations from jovial and friendly individuals who know what they are doing. The staff members would be able to compete, and are without exaggerating in par with, sommeliers of Michelin-star restaurants.
Always a pleasure to visit this establishment. I am more than happy to recommend this...
Read moreWow, wow, wow. This spot is incredible. Congratulations to everyone there, because what they've achieved is really something special. They're located in the old city, in a historic building. The space is small with limited seating, so I was lucky to arrive when I did, but I'd recommend reservations ahead of time because seating is limited. The experience is very intimate and I felt the service was very personal and attentive. The food was incredible. Rich, colorful, creative, and of course delicious. I started with the beet root raviolis. They're thinly sliced beet roots delicately folded over cashew cream cheese fillings. The filling was rich and creamy, and the beets were sliced paper thin. The flavors and textures really complemented each other well. I followed this up with their vegan fish and chips, which were tofu pieces wrapped in nori sheets and then battered and deep fried, together with potato and vegan cheese croquettes served with mushy peas, tar tar sauce, and caviar made from seaweed. The tofu was firm, crispy on the outside, and had very nice flavor from the nori sheets. The croquettes were very rich with the expected crisp exterior and soft interior. It was just so crazy good. Then for dessert, I had a passion fruit bite, that was just beautiful and delicious and the perfect way to end the meal. All the dishes were works of art, both in appearance and flavor. This is most definitely a must try location I can't...
Read moreThis is one of my favorite restaurants of all time. I have now been here twice, and had incredible meals both times. The menu is exquisitely created and rotates with new additions that I can only assume were created by genius angels. I rarely visit a restaurant where I cannot decide what to order, but here everything sounded so incredible. But let me tell you, you cannot go wrong with any dish here.
The first time I ordered a lemon risotto thing, and let me tell you it was like I died and went to heaven- again, genius angels. I have not stopped talking about this meal to anyone that will listen, and it has been over a year. The free black bread (FRESH FROM THE OVEN !) was the perfect cherry on top.
The second visit I brought my parents who are not vegans, and they also loved it. My curry with cauliflower was so flavorful it was baffling. I was so engrossed in the mix of textures it was like I was not even on the planet. We are currently discussing how to try and recreate the beet ravioli for our Christmas meal.
Also, the staff are so nice and the atmosphere is great. Very speedy also, but honestly the food was so incredible I would have come back regardless. I am considering moving to Tallin and applying to work for this restaurant just so I can go there everyday.
Anyways, I hope this place stays open forever so it can be my final meal...
