The cozy wooden interiors and the smell of freshly baked gingerbread cookies added to the overall enchantment.

Here, visitors can send postcards and letters to friends and family, stamped with a special Arctic Circle postmark. This unique postmark adds a magical touch to every piece of mail sent from this location, making it a treasured keepsake for both the sender and the recipient.

These letters are heartwarming and sometimes humorous, showcasing the universal belief in the magic of Santa. The staff, dressed as elves, are incredibly friendly and engaging, and they are more than happy to share stories about the letters and the history of the post office.
Personalized Touch: During my visit, I had the opportunity to write my own letter to Santa. The post office provides beautiful stationery and a comfortable space to sit and compose your letter. Sending a letter from the official post office made the experience even more special. I also received a personalized letter from Santa, which was a delightful surprise and a wonderful keepsake to remember the visit by.

From handcrafted ornaments to Finnish Christmas decorations, there was a wide variety of gifts to choose from. I purchased several items, including an ornament with the Arctic Circle emblem and a beautifully illustrated book about Santa’s village, which will serve as a reminder of this magical experience.

Read moreI am deeply disappointed with the service provided by Santa Claus’ Main Post Office in Rovaniemi. I sent Christmas cards in early November, well ahead of the holiday rush, to Switzerland and Serbia, expecting them to arrive in time for Christmas as advertised. Not only have these cards failed to arrive, but the service also provides no receipt or proof of sending, leaving me with no way to follow up or hold anyone accountable.
The entire premise of this service is based on creating a magical and reliable experience for families and loved ones. If they cannot guarantee delivery, they should not advertise it as such. It's misleading to customers who trust them to deliver on time, especially for something as sentimental as Christmas greetings. The lack of tracking, proof of mailing, or even a proper resolution process is unacceptable.
I understand that delays can happen, especially during the holiday season, but this service promised something special and unique. Instead, it’s caused frustration and disappointment. If this is a recurring issue, the Post Office should either fix the process, provide transparency about possible delays, or stop marketing this as a guaranteed service.
For anyone considering using this service in the future, I highly recommend reconsidering unless they introduce a proper tracking system or a way to ensure accountability. A magical Christmas experience shouldn’t end with your efforts disappearing into thin air, leaving you...
Read moreSince 1985, Santa Claus has received 15 million letters from 198 countries, which makes Santa Claus Main Post Office a must on any visit to Santa Claus Village. The merry postal elves are happy to serve customers all year round in their headquarters, which is a real post office operated by Posti, Finland’s national postal service. Every letter sent from here is addressed from Santa and gets a special Arctic Circle postmark not available anywhere else. The highlight is that if you send a postcard on 18th January, it will be received only on 18th December as a special gift for Christmas. We had a small deal of shopping there – just a handful of cards and souvenirs. And we send many cards to our friends around the world. The cards are available from 2EUR.
The Tourism Information Desk is located right above the Post Office. We went there and sealed our passports for crossing the Arctic Circle. It is not at all mandatory, but that would be a seal that would mark our journey...
