Santa's Hotel Santa Claus — Attraction in Rovaniemi sub-region

We arrived in Rovaniemi, Finland, excited for our stay at Hotel Santa Claus. After a long and early start from the UK, we attended our welcome meeting in Café & Bar Zoomit with our children. They were understandably tired and hungry, so they had a few crisps from the flight while we ordered drinks from the bar.||Unfortunately, the behavior of one staff member at the café was shockingly rude and unprofessional. They persistently stared at my family, making us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. When I politely asked for a cloth to clean up a minor spillage, their attitude was dismissive and unhelpful. For a hotel that markets itself as family-friendly, this was truly disappointing, and I hope management addresses such behavior.||The check-in process was equally frustrating. With check-in scheduled at 15:00, numerous flights arrived at the same time, causing a backlog. The lobby was overcrowded, and we felt like we were stuck in a refugee camp, losing what should have been our first day of the trip.||Thankfully, the fantastic TUI representatives turned things around. Arctic Alan and the rest of the team were incredible, going above and beyond to ensure our holiday was memorable. Their warmth, professionalism, and enthusiasm were the highlights of our experience and a credit to TUI.||While the initial issues with the hotel staff and check-in were disappointing, the TUI reps truly saved our trip and made it special...

We booked a package with TUI and decided on this hotel due to how central it was. It was our first visit to Lapland, so wasn’t sure what to expect and wanted to stay safe and be central.|Close to the airport, couldn’t get any more central. Really nice hotel, quiet, despite it being booked up and central. We had a junior suite with a sauna. Room was huge! Nice touch with a sauna. We had a lovely view over the square. We went B&B, couldn’t fault the breakfast at all. |Don’t let the fact this is classed as ‘city centre’ put you off, it’s more of a small town. Nothing rowdy about it. Plenty of places to choose from to eat and a couple of supermarkets for drinks and snacks. |Close by to Santa Village, we got a taxi one way (25-30 euros) and a bus back (4 euros each and so convenient). |Places to book trips with in the centre too, we booked with one company, but they cancelled them both due to lack of snow and icy conditions, yet other companies went out still. We rebooked an evening one with a different company (it was a diff trip) and we over heard that some trips that did take place were dangerous with ice. Companies can never win!
