Cinéma Utopia (Manutention) — Attraction in Avignon

We recently had an experience at the cafe that left us feeling overlooked and undervalued as customers.

We were the only Asian customers at the time. Upon arrival, we were not seated at all, and looking around, we could see the restaurant buzzing with both locals and tourists. Despite arriving before several other parties, we found ourselves waiting excessively long to have our orders taken, while others who arrived after us were served promptly. This discrepancy in service was not only noticeable but also deeply disheartening.

We tried multiple times to catch the attention of our server, but our attempts seemed to go unnoticed. While we understand that restaurants can be busy and sometimes service can be delayed, the clear disparity in the attention given to other patrons compared to us was hard to ignore.

I sincerely hope that this was an isolated incident and not indicative of the restaurant's approach to customer service. I believe in the importance of equal and fair treatment to all patrons, regardless of their background or origin. I hope that the management takes note of this incident and ensures it does not happen...

I was shocked and outraged at the welcome and service I received upon arrival. It is well known worldwide that prior to most movie plays in cinema, customers may expect at least 10 minutes of ads. Grant it, Utopia is the exception. I arrived 6 minutes after the start of the movie, and was very rudely told that I could not come in. The cashier was extremely rude for no reason, and one could have expected a little gesture, when just coming 6 minutes late. I would absolutely not recommend this place. C'est un cinéma sympa, qui passe des films que l'on trouve difficilement ailleurs, avec des tarifs de ciné indépendant avantageux. Cependant, les salles ne sont pas ultra confortables (sièges peu larges et très faible inclinaison de la salle, qui fait que lorsqu'une personne se place devant vous, il devient difficile de lire des sous-titres) et mal insonorisées (il m'est arrivé d'entendre la musique d'un film d'une autre salle). En revanche, la décoration atypique donne du caractère, et dégage une ambiance particulière qui n'est pas déplaisante.

C'est un cinéma très engagé politiquement, ce qui peut exaspérer certaines personnes et enchanter d'autres. (Ils ne prennent pas les cartes bancaires par exemple. Ce n'est pas vraiment un problème, il faut juste le savoir.)

Aussi, leur site est insupportable. Lorsque l'on cherche à se renseigner sur un film et que l'on espère lire un résumé, on se retrouve avec une critique pompeuse, et il en devient presque difficile parfois de savoir le sujet réel du film. Je suis toujours obligée d'aller lire les résumés d'AlloCiné ou d'autres cinémas pour me faire une idée du film. Proposer un résumé, PUIS une critique pour les plus motivés serait plus adéquat, à mon avis.

Bref, avis très mitigé. Je pense que si j'avais le choix, j'irai plutôt dans d'autres cinémas (malheureusement c'est le seul ciné d'Avignon qui passe ce...
