This was quite possibly one of the worst hotels I have ever had the displeasure of staying at. The only thing I do not have a complaint about was the bed because it was rather firm and provided ample support. The complaints start with the front desk staff. Of the six days and five nights we stayed at the hotel only one of the front desk staff members was friendly or even pleasant to deal with, but I think thats just because it was the world cup finale and we talked French football. The rest of the staff was either rude or never even had the decency to greet customers who walked through the lobby. There should also be a better system in place for when the attendant steps away from to desk as to not lock guests out because there isn't even a card reader like every other hotel or motel in existence has to open a locked door. Moving up towards the room. I am all for "saving the planet" and "going green", but it is very difficult to travel down narrow corridors with zero overhead lights at night and even during the day because of a lack of windows. Motion detectors are extremely cheap and effective and would be a brilliant way to save power and allow guests to see down the hallway. The room itself was mediocre at best. There was no refrigerator so I could not keep anything cold in the room, but there is also no where to get ice in the hotel so I couldn't even have an ice cold drink after returning from exploring the city all day. The room was tiny and did not allow for two people to walk past each other at any point without one being on the bed. The bed was the only redeeming quality because it was firm and supportive. The pillows were completely flat except for the throw pillows which had faux suede covers on the and were not conducive to a good nights sleep. The air conditioner seemed to function at about half capacity and created an obscene amount of condensation which it drain ever few minutes causing the sound of a constant flow of water in the room. The bathroom was tolerable if you don't mind some mold and a poorly functioning shower head. The "European shower" led to a flooding of the floor every time it was used because there was no half wall or curtain, just a quarter wall which left no room for any normal sized person to shower. The hotel amenities. Wi-Fi in the hotel was horrible at best. The upload speeds were abysmal and made it nearly impossible to even upload a picture or two to facebook. The connection itself was spotty and often dropped for no reason. The download speeds were so poor that it took 18 minutes to buffer a 15 minute video in standard definition. Another listed "amenity" is the airport shuttle. While the shuttle service itself was terrible it seem more like a scam than an amenity. The front desk clerk when asked called the service and scheduled a shuttle without disclosing any pricing. After the service had been scheduled and a ticket drawn up we were told it would be 36€ cash only. There was a 16€ deposit which the clerk provided change for out of his own pocket, not a till. So I assume the shuttle service never saw that money either. The remainer was paid to the service which had its own issues. This should not be listed or classified as an amenity. The only redeeming quality this hotel has is location. There are a million food options, albeit most of them extremely pricey, within a stones throw from the hotel. It is also very close to movie theatres and the bus and metro stations. The hotel itself was beyond pitiful and should never be recommended to anyone who wants a...
Read moreWe arrived at Timhotel Odessa around 2 AM after a delayed flight, hoping for a quiet night in our booked superior room. What we got instead was a windowless box that reeked of stale cigarettes. We asked to move, and the night receptionist offered a comfort room “just for now,” with a promise to switch us in the morning. Fair enough—at 3 AM, we were too tired to argue, even though the shower didn’t work.||The next morning, we spoke to reception. She told us to eat breakfast first and she’d sort it out. When we returned, a different staff member was there. I had to re-explain everything. He got visibly annoyed but eventually gave us a new room. Except… it hadn’t been cleaned. The previous guest had clearly just checked out. We left our bags and explained we’d be out all day, assuming housekeeping would take care of it.||When we returned, the room was still dirty. The receptionist threw his arms in the air and said, “I have no other rooms, that’s it.” We clarified we didn’t want a new room—we just wanted it cleaned. My partner, concerned they might simply remake the bed without changing the sheets, checked them. Sure enough: pubic hairs on the sheets.||I went to reception and bumped into the cleaner. I asked him to change the sheets. He got defensive, saying it wasn’t him who cleaned the room. We said it didn’t matter—we just wanted clean sheets. He brushed the hairs onto the floor and said, “See? It’s fine.”||The manager called me. I explained everything. He told me there was “no problem” and hung up. Another manager came to our door. I asked for a full refund. He refused, but finally agreed to change the sheets—after again insisting we couldn’t move rooms. We repeated: we don’t want to move, we just want clean sheets.||To top it off, the walls are paper-thin. You’ll hear everything—conversations, showers, and intimate moments you didn’t ask to be part of.||Otherwise, if you’re looking for super budget, the beds are comfortable. Just don’t look...
Read moreThe hotel is in an excellent location. Safe, attractive and vibrant area with many lovely bars, cafes and restaurants. Metro about minute walk away.|Our stay was pleasant enough, but with a little bit of care and attention, this hotel could be so much better.||Staff at check in and most days at reception were friendly. It was only the man on duty as we left yesterday afternoon (Tuesday 22) who wasn’t very keen to assist. We returned to the hotel to collect bags, and hoped to freshen up before heading to the airport. There were no bathrooms available to use because apparently they had work being done on them. He was uninterested and basically shrugged his shoulders.|We booked a superior double, but arrived to a twin. When I pointed this out, they agreed, but the hotel was full so they made the single beds up as a double, and to be fair the bed was very comfortable and we slept really well.|We also had to ask for the nespresso machine pods which were supposed to be in the room. They were never left again after our first day either.|Cleaning was ok-the basics in the room were all very clean (bedding, carpets, desk area) but less used areas (along top of bed, inside cupboards etc) were very dusty.|Lack of ventilation in shower room, and with the only mirror in the bathroom along with the hairdryer, drying hair/doing make up was difficult if you’ve showered first.|The room requires a bit of maintenance/decoration as there were a number of small areas of chipped paint and ripped wall paper.|Our stay was fine, but for the price of this hotel I would probably try another hotel in the same...
