Read moreWe came to Pont d'lena to embark on a night cruise on the Seine. We had encountered problems with the on line booking whilst in the UK, the tickets would not download to our phone or laptop but we had scree printed a booking reference, time of cruise. The boats in question leave from the quayside alongside the Eiffel Tower . The area around the Metro Station at the Tower is a little dodgy at night and lots of street sellers with models of the Tower in all sizes and colours. I stopped to check a signpost when looking for the Pont d'lena and a guy in a car ( probably not an authorised taxi pulled up asking if I wanted a tour of the city). Ten minutes along the quayside brought us to the tour boats. The very helpful lady on the booking desk managed to find our booking and off we went on guided one hour cruise along the Seine. The guide was very knowledgeable and relayed the information in several languages. The boat itself offered seating inside where you could buy drinks and food and also up on the top deck. Paris by night is wonderful and the Eiffel Tower has a light show on the hour, just as we were leaving the quayside. When we returned we went to the quayside bar cafe and had hot chocolate which not only warmed us up but tasted really good. There are many boat companies cruising the Seine by day and night and it's well worth it to see Paris from a...
Read moreIt’s one of those spots that just makes you stop and stare. The views are incredible, on one side you’ve got the Eiffel Tower towering right over you, and on the other, the Seine flowing peacefully beneath. It’s such a photogenic location, especially around sunset when everything gets that warm golden glow.
The bridge itself isn’t super flashy, but that’s kind of the charm. It feels very historic, and surrounded by beauty. There are also these cool statues of warriors on each corner, which adds a nice historical touch. I read that it was built by Napoleon, which makes it even more interesting.
What I really loved is how lively the area is. You’ll see tourists snapping pics, couples strolling hand in hand, street performers, and boats cruising along the river. It’s a great place to just hang out for a bit, people-watch, and soak in the vibe.
It’s also super convenient, close to the Eiffel Tower, Trocadéro, and a bunch of cafes and crêpe stands nearby if you’re feeling snacky.
It can get crowded, especially in the afternoon. But honestly, it’s worth it. Whether you’re walking across it or just admiring the view. Pont d’Iéna is definitely worth seeing if you’re in Paris, especially because of its unbeatable location right next to the Eiffel Tower and the beautiful views it offers...
