The front desk lady boldly lied about G7 taxis going to the airport. She said they did not go to the airport. She also lied that there was no set rate for taxis from the city to the airport. There is in fact a set rate both ways. She ordered a taxi for me that was not metered nor was it a Parisian taxi - it was likely a family member wearing a suit and driving a nice car. He quoted me $75 dollars instead of the fixed rate of $56. We went back into the hotel and the lady said that was the price. When I said I was not going in that car and headed out to collect my mother and our luggage to get a real taxi, she said the price could be $65. Rather than put my 85 year old mother through the hassle (the whole reason I ordered a taxi through the hotel in the first place) I accepted that rate. That lady is running a taxi scam from the hotel's front desk. The hotel is in a great location but I will never stay there again, nor would I recommend this hotel to anyone. I travel for work - a flight attendant for over 40 years - I know good service, or in this case, bad service...
Read moreGreat location and very close to the Eiffel Tower. Staff at reception were very nice. |Our room however was not great, and we were extremely disappointed considering the hefty price we paid. We were on the ground floor next to the busy street. They don’t turn on air conditioning in the rooms until summer ( we asked). We were there in the middle of May and were told that they would be turning it on the next week. The room was hot, but if we opened the windows the noise from the street was deafening. Also, people would constantly stand next to our windows and smoke, so the cigarette smoke would waft into our room. I was stressed that we would be charged for smoking in the room as it was so bad. |The shower was open with no barrier. Just a flimsy shower curtain that didn’t prevent the water from going all over the bathroom floor. I honestly wonder if we were given the disabled accessible room?|I wouldn’t stay here again and would not recommend unless you really want to be close to the...
Read moreThe location is perfect, it's so close to Eiffel Tower. I enjoy my morning walk every day around the tower and along the Seine river. I stay here for 7 nights at room #54, get no view from my room but the bed is comfy and it is quiet at night so I am content with the quality of my sleep. Room and bathroom are tidy and spotless, not spacious but enough. I have to give it another credit for having an electric heated towel rack, it really helps during winter. AC works well. At night, it's warm, perhaps the central heater. Breakfast is good, the pastries are my favourite, not to mention sorts of cheese and yoghurt. The only deficiencies are (1) the loose energy saver card switch that causes blackout several times (twice when I was taking showers), so annoying. I hope they can fix it for next guests; and (2) retractable clothesline is not working. However, the staff are helpful and hospitable, so overall I am happy with my stay here and...
