We've stayed in Sail inn for two summers (July/Aug 2015 & 2016) in a row and we keep going back for many reasons. ||||1. Its location! Its in the heart of Ornos, and ornos beach is literally a 2 minute walk from the hotel door. There are many beautiful beaches around the island, but this is by far our favourite. Also, there is a supermarket close by where we stock up all our groceries from and it has everything you could need. There's also a car/ATV/scooter rental shop just down the road which makes life so much easier, we can rent and drop off the bikes without going out of our way.||||2. Excellent service. Leftheris, the owner, was very hospitable, welcoming and accommodating to all of our needs. Check in was very smooth and all the staff were very friendly and open. They'll always make you smile - trust me. Leftheris even picked us up from the airport and always asked us if we needed any help with transportation as we were 3-4 girls and he wanted to make sure we were safe (many wild party-goers in the island if you know what i mean). ||||3. Cleanliness. Our rooms were always clean and made up every morning. The lady who cleaned our rooms was the sweetest and she did an amazing job with cleaning. After the beach, we'd have a lot of sand everywhere, and the next day it would all be cleaned up very well. Thank you! ||||4. The room view. The picture you see above for the property is exactly the view you get from the room. Actually the picture doesn't do it any justice! Both times, we had a balcony which had two sun beds, we would have our morning coffee there and enjoy the view of the water, the little boats and the mountains. If you stay here, you must get a room with a balcony.||||5. The room itself. The room was very basic and standard but it had everything we needed. Beds, balcony, closet, safety box, bathroom with standing shower, TV (we never switched it on), dressing table with mirror, bed side tables and night lights. Oh, and the wifi is quite good!||||6. The Restaurant Apaggio!!! We ordered a risotto, sail inn salad (i think that's what it's called), seafood pasta and had bread with olives for starters. It was unbelievable! The food was full of flavour, cooked to perfection and it was really one of the only places I wanted to go and eat in again! I loved it!!! Chef - You're awesome! The restaurant is by the water and has a lovely view outdoors. You can also sit indoors if its too windy (which is what we did).||||7. Leftheris. This man really is a big reason I came back :) If you're reading this, Thanks for your hospitality and for really making sure we are comfortable in every way. I really really appreciated it. You made it very easy for me to decide in where to stay every time i visit Mykonos :) For the rest of you reading, I emailed Leftheris before traveling and staying at his hotel and asked him many questions before I booked, he responded quickly and addressed all my questions and ensured me that he will see that everything I am looking for will be taken care of, and he delivered. If you have any questions just email him, he's...
Read moreThe positive: The hotel room is clean, and each room has a large balcony offering a beautiful view.|We arrived at the hotel earlier than expected before check-in time. Understandably, our room wasn't ready so we were offered a (free) coffee by the staff in the lounge area as we waited for our room.||The bad: We walked up to our room with a hotel staff member. The staff member opened the wrong room (there are only 4 rooms in this hotel...) we finally got to our room and settled in. We later decided to go to dinner at the hotel's restaurant (side note: the restaurant was very good). After dinner, we went up to our room and noticed that our door wouldn't lock while we were inside the room. We asked the hotel staff to take a look - they tried to fix it without success. They told us they have security in the lobby (they don't) and we shouldn't worry. After insisting, we moved to different room. The next morning, we decided to go into town. As we were leaving, the hotel manager/owner told us we must move back to our original room when we com back - a repairman will come fix the broken lock. He assured us that the room switch would only happen once we return to the hotel. We offered to come back earlier so we could be there for the switch but he said no problem, we'll move later. Upon our return, we were handed a key to our old room. The staff moved all our belongings to our old room (we specifically asked to be there - we could move our stuff ourselves). To assure us that they didn't forget any of our items in the other room, they opened it so we can inspect it. The problem is that people had already settled in. Their belongings were already spread out in the room. The staff invaded their privacy by letting us in and invaded our privacy by moving our belongings without our permission.||Overall, it's a nice clean place. However, I expected more of a hotel charging over $300/night. I...
