Sarris Bros. — Restaurant in Municipality of Rhodes

We were looking for a place to have drinks and ended up having lunch there.

Service was super nice, engaged and motivated. We got quite a treat.

The location of the restaurant is great and you sit outside by the patio in the shade with quite a great vibe, the right place for tourists walking by. U fortunately we didn’t check the reviews before sitting down 😑

Food was very basic and partially seemed heated up but not freshly prepared, like from the supermarket when you visit the area where they sell roasted chicken that is ready made.

We ordered a large meze plate (24€) shrimps saganaki (18€) and several appetizors. 8 adults got full but the prices were way too high in comparison to the average taverna in Rhodes. Cheese Saganaki for 12€: we got fried cheese with a jelly sauce on the side. Definitely not worth it ❌😳

The highlight came at the end when we’re offered 10% discount if we pay cash. The whole invoice was in Greek which made it difficult to compare, we just counted the things and decide to take advance of the discount.

However, we only got 5% cash discount and were told that the bill doesn’t include tip although there was a 24% tax surcharge that is considered tip but not allowed according to what I read here.

Our anyway was too high bill (for what I described above) of 184€ got reduced to 174€ instead of 166€ and we ended up giving top so that it was more than the initial bill. Definitively stupid from us but just avoid this place despite their friendliness…...

Absolutely awful experience on our last day of an incredible 2 week holiday. Had it not been for the rude and intimidating waiters behaviour I would have refrained from leaving a review! I ordered the meze platter which was tasteless, I've never tasted falafel with such a mushy texture and the same is said for the meatballs. They did not resemble formed meat by any standard and had no flavour - i could only compare it to tinned pet food. My son ordered a chicken gyros pitta with fries, he took a couple of bites of the pitta but refused to eat anymore and only ate his fries. I explained to a waiter that I was unhappy with the meze and he told me I'd 'never tried meze before' and 'I just didn't like it so I must pay' I explained what was wrong with the food and that my son did also not enjoy his, but I would still pay for his meal as he had a few bites and ate all his fries. The waiter then proceeded to shout at me in front of all of the customers whilst I remained calm, and said I would have to pay. At this point he was very intimidating so I walked into the restaurant to the cashier and explained what had happened. The waiter followed me and continued to shout whilst I still explained calmly my experience of the food. The cashier listened and happily removed my meal from the bill and all was sorted. I go to Rhodes every year and i would never ever go to that restaurant again in the future, all they seem to care about is filling tables and nothing else...

We just wanted to have some refreshments after a few hours through the old city . At first the service seem really nice and friendly. We ordered a white wine , water , coffee and a watermelon dragon fruit juice . First of all we waited and waited and waited , other guest that placed the orders after us including food were already eating and we would still wait for the drinks . After a while the “barkeeper “ came outside to get the menu with the lemonades because she /he had to read what’s going In the lemonade. After 15 min approx we finally get our drinks. Wine (I ordered a semi sweet ) dry Coffee was a black one so that was ok Water came with a Glas no lemon no ice The lemonade was beyond awful!!!!! I don’t want to be rude but the sweetness of that drink gave me the feeling that there was only water mixed with jam ! I am sorry but that was AWFUL! Took a sip and left it on the table . We paid leaving no tip because first of all we were waiting yo long and second if a guest Doesn’t even touches her/his drink I’ll bother to ask if something it’s not right instead of ignoring it and bringing the bill when asked and walk away!
