Hotel San Miguel — Hotel in Flores

The bathroom smelled like sewerage and the water in the tap had a terrible smell.|Water pressure in the shower wasn't good either.||The bathroom door wouldn't close, and the room's door wouldn't lock properly.||Andrew is the rudest service providor I have ever encountered.|The hostel isn't located in the city, but across the river. You have to get a boat to get there. It's only a minute ride but you have to pay 10q. It wasn't stated anywhere in their booking page, and when I asked Andrew about it he was completely rude and told me to go to a different hotel if I didnt like it. He thought I didn't understand spanish and had the audacity to leave a review about me saying that I refuse to pay, when I was standing right next to him trying to book a boat for the next morning (I obviously paid for it, I was just upset by having to pay 10q every time I wanted to go to the city).||I understand that this is a family business and the guy is probably a 17 year old, but I would expect him to have basic human decency and not act as rude as he did.||They had nice view of the city and good Wifi, but I absolutely hated my stay there, and wouldn't recommend it...

I am so glad I found this little gem, I was looking for somewhere cheap near Flores and was able to check this place out because I was driving (I later found out you could use the ferry to and from Flores for 15 QTZ with a vehicle, 5 QTZ per person and runs constantly instead of driving along the bad, unpaved road) The location and view across the bay is amazing and all the rooms have that view. Meals are very tasty, big portions and very reasonable priced, I had a few breakfasts and dinners. Rooms are basic with a fan and toilet/shower with hot water, wifi is a bit vague in places but usable none the less. You can swim/snorkel in the bay as its just in front of the Hostel, clear water with some fish. The manager speaks a little English and is very accommodating. There's also a very basic restaurant down the road that does some amazing traditional meals too as well as a general store. Why stay in Flores when you can stay here for half the price and enjoy the ferry ride which is an experience by...

Go here if you do not plan to do anything and want a nice view of Flores and the water. I say this because any plans you try to make will not happen! Do not expect any organisation or help with making plans from the hotel. The communication is disappointing, whilst one person speaks good English, this still doesn’t mean satisfactory communication. There was minimal to no follow up. This included fixing issues in the room, communicating timings, booking onward trips. For me this caused a lot of stress as I was still chasing for confirmation the night before a bus was meant to leave at 0600. I ended up using another company and relieved to leave.
