You get what you pay for. For me I could deal with the lack of welcome when arriving, the room with no hot water and the noise, but it had TV and private bathroom for $25 for 3 nights. You can't grumble for that price. ||What peed me off was the tour agency within the hotel (Enrique) that blatantly lied and cheated me with the Ixpanpul canopy and skywalk tour. You just don't expect that from a company when you're staying at the hotel as a guest. But after complaining loudly in the street, I managed to get what I paid for. Oh and the pick up bus was an hour and 15 mins late! I was told don't worry, just wait, they're eating breakfast! ||And then there was no electricity for approximately 2 nights and there was absolutely no apology or compensation. the power went out for part of the street but they didn't have a back up generator! Appalling service. So no WiFi which was frustrating.|| Appears to be young teens running the show and no manager around when this was a big issue that needed dealing with. I'd stay elsewhere or just make sure you have a torch as you can't rely on your phone's torch if it has a dead battery which you...
Read moreVery dishonest and insult customers based on skin color.
We were there only for food on the 3rd floor. They over charged us 25% more! The total bill is 205Q dinner was charged 262.5Q, 25% more.
When we realized that later and came back for explanation, the waiter gave us the face that he was confused. The owner got upset and said “this is not Japan”.
First of all, you are dishonest, instead of apologizing, you insulted customers who are not even Japanese. Isn’t that racism against Asians?
Very dishonest conduct. Always ask for the printed receipt, making sure what you are paying is correct. The service charge is 10%, credit card payment additional 5%.
Other restaurants nearby do not have this 5% for credit card card payment some of them don’t hace 10% charge. They certainly don’t insult customers based on their skin colors.
This sense of entitlement and greed, I was appalled. 😱
Please go to other restaurants who don’t cut corners. Please do not support this kind of dishonest/insulting behavior. I wonder if this how they want to teach their own children, to be dishonest, to...
Read moreDifficult to rate this place because the hotel was awful but we absolutely loved the restaurant.
It's a budget hotel so you expect it to be pretty free from frills. However, upon booking we were saddled with a hidden aircon fee, when we didn't want aircon and weren't given any other option, that doubled the price of the room. Then the in-room wifi that was advertised did not work anywhere in the hotel for the duration of our stay, forcing us to pay extra for wifi at the travel agency two doors down. All in all a 2 day stay that was supposed to cost about 250 quetzales cost about 550.
Again, I don't expect much from budget hotels, we didn't mind that the shower barely worked or that it was noisy due to thin walls or anything, that's standard budget hotel fare. But I don't like false advertising and hidden fees.
However, that said, the rooftop restaurant was cheap and wonderful, with huge portions and friendly service and amazing views. I'd like to be able to rate them separately, because the restaurant surely...
