Wonderful experience! The tiny private museum is full of amazing treasures. Some vases are in almost mint condition! I was accompanied by Gustavo, who picked me up and introduced me to the collection. I also had the chance to chat with the very friendly owner during her own live radio show for children. If you whatsapp them, they offer a museum + return lancha pickup at the I love Peten dock for just 30 GTQ.

I visited the Museo de Santa Bárbara and absolutely loved it. It’s a small museum on a tiny island just off Flores—you get there by a quick boat ride, which was really fun! The museum itself has a mix of Mayan artifacts, colonial items, and local history which is awesome to learn about.

What made the visit extra great was Pamela, our guide. She was super sweet, easy to talk to, and full of interesting facts and stories about the region. You could tell she really cares about the history and enjoys sharing it!

Make sure to check out the gift shop as well - really unique, hand made items in there!

Thanks...

This is my first time writing a Google review. Simply put, you have to visit this little island, or stay there in a cabin! We kayaked there from the isla de Flores. The owners are very freindly and in addition to a small Mayan museum, they offer cabins, a private swimming area, small kitchen, cocos, and animals that keep you company. They also have a radio station that they transmit from the island and have done so for many years! 10/10 would...
