I'm not used to giving bad reviews. I tend not to give reviews if they are bad, but this time I decided to do it because I want this to be an opportunity for improvement for Big Fish. This was surely an unfortunate evening, and I'm sure it will be better next time.

We ordered some tacos and a mixed ceviche. Two drinks, and a bottle of water.

The tacos dough was very soft and, I think, undercooked. The ceviche was just not acceptable. The major ingredients for marinating the fish was missing: no lime nor lemon. The fish was just served with a mix of shredded tomatoes and onions. The fish also seemed not very fresh, as some of the seafood had a pretty unpleasant taste. Also, it was served in a big glass which made it really difficult to eat. Picture attached. The drinks were ok, and the water never came.

We finished the tacos and sent back the ceviche, and, only, after that, the waitress asked if we still wanted the water,

A quite unfortunatea experience, apparently, because according to the other reviews, other...

I’m a certified American chef. I’ve been coming to Flores since 1989. After several meals at Big Fish, I am delighted to recommend the atmosphere (clean, cozy, intimate, and tastefully decorated with an outstanding view of the lake), the service (management reacted to the expression on my face instantly and the server was first class), and the food. Oh, the food! Ignore the white bread toast on the plate (?) and try the best ceviche (a medium is large—a tall US sundae glass filled with sweet tomato diced to cover a cup of al dente shrimp for 70Q!) on the island. The steamed or fried white bass from the lake lives up to its renown, best freshwater fish in CA. No joke. Perfect guacamole, tender breaded shrimp, oil and vinegar on the side for the salad….open til 10:00 pm....

My family and I had an incredible dining experience at Big Fish in Flores, Guatemala. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Alexander and Selenne, who went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time. Their kindness, attentiveness, and respectful service truly made our visit special.

The food was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every dish exceeded our expectations. On top of that, the view was spectacular, adding to the overall charm of the restaurant.

If you’re in Flores, I highly recommend visiting Big Fish for a fantastic meal, exceptional service, and a breathtaking atmosphere. We will definitely be...

The Fried Fish here is the best fish I have ever had! The fish is flavorful, and perfectly cooked. We have eaten here twice, two days in a row just because the fish is absolutely mouth watering. Not only is the food delicious but also the staff is amazing. The staff goes above and beyond to accommodate us, to make sure we have everything we need. The owner/waiter Alfredo, is truly a gem! I encourage everyone to come check out the Big Fish, you won't be disappointed❤️

Really enjoyed the pescado blanco al vapor (steamed local fish). Had to wait about ~30 min for my food but not a problem with free WiFi, and well worth the wait as my meal was so tasty. Very good value too at 70 quetzales, service was 👍🏻 and I liked that the tip was not automatically expected. The fish comes with rice, guacamole and, if you wish, bread/tortillas (I declined either as it was already quite a lot of food for me). Nice location by the river. Recommend!
