Highly recommend booking this private tour! They will customize your day however you like, just contact them and tell them what you're looking to do. We were visiting for the day coming off a cruise ship and after researching several companies decided to give Roatan Tucan Adventures a try and it did not disappoint. Sinthia was our tour guide for the day and she planned everything out perfectly and took great care of us. Prior to leaving for the cruise, she sent us instructions on how to exit the port since it is not allowed for ANY company to enter the port. You can either walk 7-10 min from your ship (up and down a hill) or grab a taxi for a quick ride if mobility is an issue. You can start any time in the morning you like. Even though our ship arrived early at 7am we opted for a later 9:30am start time. Sinthia also had all our cruise information and keeps up with any port changes and if for some reason you're delayed or your ship doesn't dock she will know about it and you won't get charged which is a great plus. Sinthia greeted us outside the port with her sign in hand to find her. She drove a small and clean SUV which was perfect for navigating some of the rough roads of Roatan.

For the tour, it was just me and my husband and we visited a sloth/monkey sanctuary that she recommended and said was the best; made quick stops at a local chocolate factory (careful if you buy anything, it will melt since the island is usually fairly warm) and a local rum shop with delicious rum and rum cakes that we purchased to bring back as gifts. As we drove around the whole island, Sinthia shared a wealth of information and knowledge about the island, its people, culture and country. We then headed to a beach club for a few hours where she suggested we could snorkel a small part the 2nd largest barrier reef in the world. She set everything up for us and we went out for an hour and had a fabulous time. We were fortunate not to many other people were snorkeling at that time so the fish were active and we even saw sting rays. (I would say if you're really big on snorkeling perhaps book a separate tour or have them book you with a company that goes farther out from popular beaches. But this was a great way to sample it). The beach was beautiful but we didn’t care for the food options. We should have planned time to stop for lunch, there was a great place with amazing views that she recommended but we didn’t have time. Overall, we had a great day and got to do a little bit of everything. We were out for 6 hours total. This tour company takes it very seriously to get you back to the boat early. We were back 2 hours before our all aboard time and when booking they told us it was their policy. This way there is buffer in case anything happens or any delays, you won't have to worry. We spent the last 2 hours enjoying Mahogony Bay Port. Sinthia was so nice and friendly and helped take many great photos! Highly recommend asking for her! I’ve already sent 2 friends her way for when they’re on...

We just returned from our vacation, and I wanted to take the time to share my experience.

From the beginning, Marta was the best guide we could have asked for. Her friendly and professional attitude made our experience in Roatán truly unforgettable. The car she drove was spotless, which immediately made us feel comfortable and safe. Throughout the entire tour, Marta explained every important detail about the island and shared so much valuable information, enriching our visit.

One gesture we truly appreciated was that, without us asking, she stopped at a gas station to buy us drinks and snaks, showing just how thoughtful and considerate she is. She never showed interest in anything other than our comfort and ensuring that we enjoyed every moment of the day. At all times, we felt safe, relaxed, and well cared for, which is so important during any trip. Additionally, Marta surprised us with a small but giant gift: a photo she took during our tour, which she had framed. It will always serve as a symbol of this wonderful experience. It's an image that will forever remain in our memories, a detail that touched our hearts deeply. Out of all the countries I've visited, this experience has been, without a doubt, the best. We were so sad to return to the ship, but what we do know for sure is that we will be coming back to Roatán, and when we do, we will be with the same company and, of course, with Marta, the best guide we could have had. We are leaving completely in love with the island and extremely grateful to Marta and the company for making this such an incredible experience.

If you're planning a trip with the company, Marta is exactly what you need to enjoy it to the fullest. Thank you, Marta,...

During our recent trip to Roatan, we had the pleasure of exploring the island with Roatan Tucan Adventures, guided by the wonderful Jeimi. Our adventure was packed with stunning sights and memorable experiences, making it a day to remember.

We started at the French Harbor, where we soaked in fantastic views of the island. The vantage points offered breathtaking panoramas that were perfect for photography enthusiasts and nature lovers alike.

The adventure continued to the Mayan jungle, a lush and vibrant area teeming with wildlife. Here, we had the unique opportunity to get up close with capuchin monkeys, sloths, and colorful parrots. Each encounter was delightful and educational, thanks to Jeimi's insights and careful guidance.

Our next stop was the Roatan Chocolate Factory, where we delved into the world of chocolate making. The tour was both informative and delicious, with ample opportunities to sample authentic Roatan chocolate. Learning about the local production processes added a rich layer to our experience.

We concluded our tour at a local rum distillery, surrounded by scenic views that provided a perfect backdrop for ending our day. The distillery visit was not only enjoyable but also enlightening, showcasing another facet of Roatan's local culture and industry.

Throughout the tour, Jeimi proved to be an exceptional guide. Her knowledge of the area was impressive, and she ensured our safety and comfort as we traveled from one location to another. I highly recommend Roatan Tucan Adventures to anyone visiting the island. Thanks to Jeimi and her team, our visit was not just a tour, but a...

My husband and I booked the Roatán East-End Mangrove Tunnels Tour. It was a private tour at a very reasonable price. Our driver, Emelio, was professional and highly knowledgeable about the island. Our first stop was Daniel Johnson's Monkey & Sloth Hangout, where we got to hold sloths and feed monkeys, parakeets, and macaws. Caleb, our sanctuary guide, was personable and kind. Next, we visited the community of Oak Ridge, our favorite stop of the day. Known as the 'Venice of Roatán,' we rode in a local water taxi through the waterways of this seaside fishing village. Samuel, our boat driver, made us feel safe and well cared for. The highlight of the boat tour was going through the mangrove tunnels. After returning to land, we drove through Punta Gorda, a famous Garifuna community, where we stopped for lunch at Wagundan Restaurant, a lovely spot on the water with excellent local food. We highly recommend Roatán Tucan Adventures, especially the mangrove tunnels tour!
