Ukraine voluntarily gave up the third-largest nuclear arsenal in the world, trusting its security to international guarantees. This was solidified in the 1994 Budapest Memorandum, where leading global powers — the U.S., the U.K., and Russia — pledged to protect Ukraine's territorial integrity. Ukraine took a step toward global peace, relying on the promises of the international community. But where are those guarantees now?

In 2014, Russia annexed Crimea, violating every possible agreement, while the other guarantors of Ukraine's security responded with little more than "deep concern." The memorandum, which was supposed to be a shield for Ukraine, turned out to be a meaningless piece of paper. And now, as Ukraine faces a full-scale invasion, these same guarantors once again offer words of "concern" instead of fulfilling their obligations.

Why does the international community allow this to happen? How can they stand by and watch as Ukraine — a country that trusted its security to international treaties — is left alone to fight off an aggressor? The world signed these agreements, promising protection, but when the time came to act, it chose a policy of hesitation and detachment. This is not just a betrayal of Ukraine — it’s a betrayal of the global principles upon which international security was supposed to be built.

The Budapest Memorandum has revealed that international promises mean little more than the paper they are written on when real action is required. And this should be a mark of shame on every nation that signed those agreements but allowed the aggressor to freely destroy the country that once contributed to...

The Budapest Parliament is a breathtaking architectural masterpiece, prominently situated along the Danube River. Even without an interior tour, the building's stunning Gothic Revival design and intricate details impress from the outside. The views of the Parliament from across the river are particularly spectacular, especially at sunset when the structure is beautifully illuminated. Its grandeur and elegance make it a standout landmark in Budapest. Overall, the Parliament building is a visual delight and a must-see for anyone...

I visited the Parliament Building in Budapest, and the architecture is absolutely breathtaking. The stunning view of the building, with the Danube River right in front, adds to its charm. The history associated with this place is equally fascinating. It's a must-visit spot in Budapest, with picturesque views that are perfect for photos. Walking around the area is a wonderful experience, and the views from a cruise tour are also incredible. I highly recommend visiting this iconic landmark when...

Booking in time is necessary. Not only the outside is beautiful, but also the interior. At the end of the tour there is a room where you can look at a model of the building and videos about this building for as long as you want. Entrance is on the north side, underground. I believe you had to print the ticket, but please double check.
