I'm going to give my honest opinion. I'm not sure why this is rated a 4-star hotel. Yes, it looks pretty, but it's kind of a facade. I don't understand how a Michelin star restaurant could have such a small bland spread for breakfast. Everyday the exact same things to ate, no variety or variation. I actually ate breakfast at other restaurants for a few of the days cause I just couldn't eat there anymore. The jacuzzi was broken the whole time we were there. When I went down directly from the jacuzzi in the robe the hotel provided to tell them that the jacuzzi wasn't working I was met with a snarky attitude, and they even laughed as we were going up to the room. I wasn't going to go back up to change then back down just to tell them something in their hotel was broken. I informed them right away. I just beat cancer, I should be able to feel relaxed in my environment without being snickered at. Almost everything in the hotel doesn't work but I'm the joke? Look around you... The internet and TVs...wow... it's been a while since I've been to a place that had such bad wifi/TVs. The TV was constantly freezing. It was like impossible to just watch regular TV so I had to buy a cable to attach my phone to the TV, download something first onto my phone in order to watch anything without the TV freezing. The TV is so old it didn't even have the ability to screenshare or use bluetooth. I was absolutely shocked! Little warning if you're claustrophobic, there is no natural light, all the windows opened to the courtyard in the hotel so no outside light. We could see other room's windows across from us and besides so I'm not sure if any of them did have a window that opened to the outside, the suite we were in did not have an outside window. On the plus side we really liked the double sinks and option of tub or shower. I have nothing bad to say about most of the customer service or the cleaning staff. Everyone (except for those who were at the desk when the jacuzzi broke) was very kind and attentive. The cleaning staff was always very friendly. Before we arrived they did upgrade us due to me beating my battle with cancer and that it was our anniversary on the 25th which was very appreciated and kind. But it was hard to enjoy it with everything else going wrong. They asked me why I didn't report the TV/WiFi problems right away but after the jacuzzi incident I didn't feel as if I could go to them with any issues. But I did show them pictures and video of the issues as I was checking out. They did try to give me a little refund for all the things that went wrong or didn't work but for some reason their card reader wasn't working, even though it was the same machine and card I had just used to pay for the whole stay. So it just felt like everything tech related just didn’t work and I wasn't surprised at that point.

Prestige Hotel enjoys a prime location on the Pest side of the Danube River, neatly dividing Budapest. It's a stone's throw from the iconic Széchenyi Chain Bridge, offering easy access to explore both city halves on foot. For those arriving via the airport, the AirPort Express bus 100E offers an efficient and budget-friendly option, arriving in roughly 35 minutes with departures every 10 minutes. The final stop, Deák Ferenc tér, is conveniently a brief 10-minute stroll to the hotel. This establishment is nestled within a historic edifice that has been elegantly converted into a modern amenity, all while preserving its original charm. Our hotel room was situated on the 5th floor, overlooking the inner courtyard. The room boasted a cozy bed, a contemporary bathroom complete with complimentary toiletries and a bathrobe (a personal highlight), as well as a Nespresso coffee maker with replenished capsules. A minor drawback was the non-opening windows in rooms overlooking the courtyard, though the effective air conditioning rendered this a minor issue. Breakfast is hosted buffet-style in the hotel’s restaurant, featuring home-made granola, an extensive assortment of fresh fruits, and various spreads. As visitors from Germany, we noted a limited selection in terms of bread, cheese, and pastries. It’s worth mentioning that seating in the restaurant can be tight, potentially leading to waits during peak times. The hotel proactively communicates this, advising guests to dine early or brace for a short wait. In our experience, however, this was more of a precautionary measure, as we encountered no waiting times. An evening gesture of a weather forecast on a handwritten note along with some chocolate added a thoughtful touch. The staff were invariably cordial and proficient in English, enhancing our stay.

An Unforgettable Stay at Prestige Hotel Budapest Our recent stay at the Prestige Hotel Budapest exceeded every expectation! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the hotel’s perfect location in the heart of this magnificent city. The location simply cannot be beaten. We were within easy walking distance of virtually all of Budapest’s iconic attractions. The stunning Parliament Building was just a leisurely stroll away, and we could reach the historic Castle District, Fisherman’s Bastion, and Matthias Church with ease. The famous Chain Bridge and the beautiful Danube promenade were practically on our doorstep, making evening walks absolutely magical. What we loved most was how effortlessly we could explore the city. The nearby metro station meant we could venture to Heroes’ Square, City Park, and the Széchenyi Thermal Baths in minutes. The vibrant Jewish Quarter with its trendy ruin bars was also incredibly accessible. We never wasted time on long commutes – every moment was spent actually experiencing Budapest’s rich history and culture. The hotel staff were wonderfully helpful with recommendations and directions, helping us maximize our sightseeing time. Their local knowledge proved invaluable for discovering hidden gems we might have otherwise missed. Combined with comfortable accommodations and excellent amenities, the Prestige Hotel Budapest’s unbeatable location made our trip truly special. We could see more, do more, and experience more without the stress of complicated transportation. For anyone planning to explore Budapest’s incredible sights, this hotel is the perfect home base. We’ll absolutely be returning on our next visit to this beautiful city!

First impressions were mixed: |Firstly although there is a lot below about how improvements could be made, I would stay here again due to the location and cleanliness. You are near St Stephens Basilica and the Chain Bridge. It’s easy to walk to most of the popular places and the no16 bus to Buda is less than a 5 minute walk. Our plane was delayed by 2 hrs which meant we would get to the hotel just before midnight. I emailed the hotel whilst waiting for the plane and they replied within the hour stating reception was open 24hrs and not to worry which helped put my mind at rest. When we arrived, a porter helped take our bags to the room - make sure you have money for tipping. Staff were nice. We had booked a deluxe room and had requested a quiet room with shower only, which we were given. Initially it looked nice but functionality was very poor. Small free water bottles are in the room (daily) however on inspection one bottle was already opened and had been drunk out of so we had been left the previous person's water yuk! I threw the 2 unwrapped chocolates that had been left away as I did not know if these were from a previous guest too. I did complain the next morning and highlighted we had drunk the water from the larger chargeable bottles and was told we would not be charged for that bottle of water however on check out they tried to charge us. There is tea and coffee in the room but only small coffee cups and coffee cream even though there are teabags. I know this has been pointed out in previous reviews several times. I asked for a cup from the breakfast room in the morning plus some milk, thanks to another reviewer suggesting this. Towels are small which surprised me. Breakfast is ok but it got a bit repetitive after 7 days. Some of the "hot" food is luke warm as stated in many other reviews however this is sometimes due to guests not replacing the lids. You now have to pay extra for things like eggs benedict. The bacon although nice is very salty. It does warn you to get breakfast before 8am to avoid having to wait for a table. We had no problem at any time of the morning. However do not go to the buffet servings together as your table will be snatched up, which is what happened to us. The staff were always smiling and pleasant in the breakfast room. If you have not had breakfast included there are many eateries nearby that are cheaper. Unfortunately I cannot remember the room number but it was on a corner on a high floor. It is impossible to stand under the shower as it is fixed too close to the wall and you have to twist it on its side to stand under it – again this has been pointed out in previous reviews that have been acknowledged by the manager. Although water pressure is good, we experienced scalding hot water 2 mornings in the middle of a shower, so I’m not sure whether they have a thermostatic control when there are a lot of people showering at the same time, but this could be dangerous for small children. The desk has no natural light on it and the lamp is useless so I had to sit on the bed facing out to the courtyard to do my makeup. Changing the lamps would help somewhat with this. Internet is speedy except on the TV where it regularly drops out. There are not many English TV channels. The settee is directly underneath the TV so you can only watch TV from the bed. The settee needs changing in the next 12 months as the support is now a little poor. The settees in the lovely reception area also give poor support (as stated in previous reviews). The bed was very comfortable just touching on slightly firm. The cleaners were lovely and the room was spotless. They do start cleaning earlier than most hotels I have been to but they will come back if asked. Staff are polite but I found on the 2 occasions I asked for information, that you have to be very specific e.g. we asked where we could buy a month travel pass which we were kindly shown on a map however were not informed that you have to take ID for a longer dated travel pass which meant what should have taken 15 minutes took 45 minutes due to having to go back to the hotel to get our passports. I would suggest asking “is there anything else we need to know”. That being said it is a beautiful looking hotel in a very convenient location but someone needs to take responsibility and make some simple changes to enable the hotel to go from good...

First class hotel from first entering the Lobby/Reception to sadly having to leave to head back home. Reception staff super efficient across our whole stay, any question answered and plenty of advice was forthcoming regarding local attractions and local restaurants. The hotel was spotlessly clean and highly efficient. Our room was perfect for our 5 day visit and the misses loved the shower which was the best she has experienced for power and hot water. We did have a few little issues that where dealt with immediately by reception and when we returned to our room after a days site seeing we were pleasantly surprised to find a bottle of bubble on ice ready waiting for us which was appreciated. The food was first rate, breakfast was one of the best we have experienced when visiting abroad. Front of house staff where very smart with impeccable service, occasionally we would skip breakfast when holidaying abroad, however due to the quality and service we decided to part take in breakfast every morning before heading out. Evening meal was also of the same quality and standard as breakfast. Another thing to mention which we thought was a nice little touch was that the chambermaids would knock on your door around 6pm and hand you a few little chocolates which was also accompanied with the following days weather forecast, it’s the little things that matter. The hotel is situated perfectly and just 5 minutes from the chain bridge and from the main square full of restaurants super quite and Zero external noise, very relaxing. We always enjoyed a drink from the bar each evening while sitting in the reception area which again had a very peaceful atmosphere as we talk through our days site seeing adventure. Another thing to mention is that the hotel also provides a pickup and drop off service from and too the airport which you do have to pay for but worth the cost in our opinion. Finally, we enjoyed Budapest and the hotel that much we will be returning around the same time next year, see you in 2026 Prestige Hotel, thanks for making our first visit to Budapest a very...
