I was stopping by in Akureyri for only a few hours and this was a lovely little museum to visit. I came less than an hour before closing but the man behind the desk was very friendly and gave me information on how to get the most out of my short visit. You can get an idea of all the exhibits in 30-60 minutes. They had a wonderful, moving exhibition on the top floor called The Visitors that I would recommend to anyone. The local artists and children's work they were displaying was quite charming too. Enjoy some coffee at the cafe before you go! It's delicious!

It is great that the town has a art museum. The day we visited it , the exhibition was mostly focused on contemporary art than modern art. Interesting pieces, specifically the coton paintings by Denya Zakn where your mind gets lost in their darkness. I also liked Jonas Vidar Sveinsson untitled white painting. On 3 floors, starts from the 4th

A great museum with very interesting exhibitions of Icelandic art! The photos in my review do not include one of the exhibitions with installations in a dark room, which was very special! In short, I highly recommend everyone in Akureyri to visit this museum.

Thank you for the unforgettable artist residency! We loved our time at Listak! The facilities for artists are excellent and the nicest people you can imagine organise the Artist in Residence Program. We are grateful for such a wonderful and warm welcome.

Great little museum right in the middle of town. I’m SO happy with the art work on canvas that I bought by G. Ringsted. The woman at the museum who sold them to me was very helpful and friendly. The museum is a must see in Akureyri!!!

Nice small art museum with a cafe. The art was a bit underwhelming for the most part but there were a few choice pieces that stood out. If you like modern art and need something to do in Akureyri this isn’t a bad spot.
