We come here everytime I am in Akureyri. The portions are ginormous and the topping selection is vast. Skip all the ice cream places that are conveniently located in the main tourist area. Take the extra couple minutes to walk here and get some of this ice cream. It is worth it. I recommend getting a twister, vanilla base, chocolate chip cookie dough, Nutella and milk chocolate shavings. (Pictured is a large and yes the amount outside of the cup is what a typical large would be elsewhere)

Overrated and expensive ice (cream) shop. Mostly frozen watery ice with little to no taste or cream. You are better of buying some real ice cream with real cream and taste in the nearest road side drive thru shop. It's a common misconception that locals love it, but I don't know anyone around here who likes it. Simply not recommended over other options.

The ice creams are amazing. There are so many toppings you can choose from, from candies, licorice to chocolates and cookie dough. The staff is pretty nice too, she was kind enough to explain different kinds of orders and patiently wait for us to choose our toppings. I hoped there were more seats tho. Other wise it’s a 9/10 for me.

Visited in October 2021. This “ice cream” is made with milk instead of cream, which makes it quite watery. Lots of topping options, but with the ice milk base, the flavors were dull and it didn’t seem worth it. Also keep in mind there is no seating inside, so you will be taking your ice milk to go, regardless of the weather.

Gelato? Ma di che parliamo? Ci sono venuto seguendo le indicazioni della guida e sperando che si trattasse di qualcosa di tipico nella lavorazione e nei gusti. Il gelato è di qualità e sapore scadente e funge solo da base (vaniglia, cioccolato, fragola) per i dolciumi che lo guarniscono. Anche la peggiore delle vaschette confezionate da noi vincerebbe a man bassa. Ho letto recensioni di persone che si sono esaltate per le innumerevoli cose che si possono aggiungere (confetti, biscotti, snack sminuzzati, topping ecc..), ma non è sicuramente quello che fa il gelato. Ne sono capaci tutti: compri un gelato a vaniglia e ci riversi su tutto il reparto snack che trovi al supermercato. Non voglio apparire come il solito italiano schizzinoso, ma le nostre eccellenze in merito rendono difficile capire come si possano apprezzare certe cose. Nella foto il gelato sciolto che ha lasciato mio figlio: papà, sa di cioccolato stantio!
