A redeeming experience and top quality service. After coming here and having a sour experience while trying to have a nice birthday meal the previous night - when the place was packed and the staff was having a hard time - where we ended up walking out due to seating issues that went against our wishes during the booking process, we were called up by the restaurant the following day and offered a new table to make up for our experience. The place was not nearly as busy, with the staff seeming much more relaxed. We were treated to a very nice 3 course meal, the beef tenderloin being absolutely brilliant. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and the food arrived quickly. Our waiter was the same one from the previous night and was an absolute gem of a human. Would recommend. We do have some sensory issues and felt that the room could have been sound treated better as sound from other patrons traveled very easily and harshly across the whole room, but all in all a fantastic experience though. Thank you so much!

US Californian here and a food snob - Langoustine Maki 4/5 (sushi rice could be improved but overall tasty) - Spiced Lamb 4/5 (delicious but nothing special) - Grilled Beef Tenderloin 7/5 (best thing on the menu, beef was cooked to perfection and the seasoning had an asian twist, unique in flavor) - Avocado Fries 4/5 (nothing special either but still delicious) - Bacon Wrapped Dates 4/5 (nothing special but still delicious) - Surf & Turf My Style 3/5 (sauce was too much and the beef tartare was hard) - Tuna Tartare 5/5 (light fresh and seasoned well) - Eplasopi 5/5 (whiskey apple drink with a unique taste, super refreshing but sweet and definitely a good buzz) - Service 10/5 ( amazing service and shout out to Molly (our server) and a red headed lady (her name escapes me) )

Not my first time in this restaurant. Keep coming back because of the good food, however staff makes me doubt my future comeback. Food was very good, deep-fried salmon taco was great! Steak a little bit overcooked, but still very nice! I am a waiter myself, so if restaurant would be busy, I would understand some errors, however having literally 3 tables and 2 waiters it is not clear to me, how it's possible that my chair was full of breadcrumbs and I needed to move it myself; why was our request to have all the food at the same time was ignored; no smile or any questions if everything is good... Kitchen rang the bell for our food for 3 times, and I saw no rush or interest to bring it in time... I still enjoyed the stay, but clearly staff is not bothered if the client is happy or not 🤷

We had dinner here and it was great. We were five people and entered the restaurant at 22h (supposedly their closing time). However, and fortunately for us, they made an exception and served us dinner. We ordered langoustine soup as a starter and then cod, lamb and portobello as main courses. Everything was very nice. The vegetable and fruit mix gives it a great taste. The bread that they bring is very very good. For desert we asked for the chocolate cake / brownie (can't really remember the exact name) and was the perfect way to finish the meal. It was one of the best I've eaten. The place and the view were also very nice. The staff was also great. Without any doubt, one of the best restaurants I've been in Iceland.

Possibly one of the best restaurants we visited during our last trip to Akureyri. We were only looking for light bites so we got four appetizers to share which were the Arabic spiced lamb, the oven-baked cod with miso honey, surf and turf & kimchi in hirata (bao buns) and the grilled Arabian chicken thigh. For appetizers, we thought the portion sizes were generous and everything that was served at our table was excellent and brought to us in a timely manner. My personal favourite would have been the surf and turf bao bun with the lovely prawns, fluffy bao bun and the deliciously savoury kimchi, with an Icelandic twist. Our waitresses were very attentive too. If in Akureyri, definitely check out Strikið!

Unfortunately, the overall experience was not quite up to our taste. The langoustine soup had great flavor but was overly salty. The baked brie was inconsistent, a bit hit or miss. The grilled lobster, however, was quite nice and enjoyable. The biggest disappointment was the lamb. It was one of the worst dishes I've had in Iceland – incredibly tough, difficult to cut, and far too fatty. Oddly, there were random chunks of mayo on the plate that didn’t seem to belong. On a positive note, the service was attentive throughout the meal, and the passion fresco dessert was a highlight. It was light, refreshing, and did a great job of cleansing my palate after the disappointing lamb.
