Unfortunately we didn't like very much at all about the Puri Naga during our 10 night stay. The 'included' breakfast was very underwhelming. We were expecting the standard 'big breakfast' with the works (choice of cereals, fruits, bacon & eggs, etc) as is offered at most decent hotels, however we were presented with a very basic menu. We had a choice of cornflakes OR pancakes, OR eggs on toast, not a bit of each, like most places. Oh and no bacon offered! The 'restaurant' is open aired and the stink of the nearby filthy stream/canal running into the ocean didn't do much to entice our appetite. Never again!||Sadly, we would not recommend this place to anyone. The only plus we can give is that the rooms were OK for size and the aircon worked well in each room. The tap fittings in the shower were rust ridden and the towel racks adjacent to the shower were also rusty. The tap pressure over the sink was no more than a dribble. The tiles that joined the shower floor were filthy dirty & caked in a black grit. The shower drain was clogged with filth and muck. The daily bathroom cleaning was pretty non-existent and there is simply no maintenance being done at this hotel. ||Don't be fooled by the glossy internet photos of the pool. The tiles in the swimming pool are a disgrace. Our youngest daughter had her holiday severely hampered after she cut her foot on our first morning on a broken tile whilst swimming in the pool. It cost us a trip to the local hospital. Thankfully we were able to convince the staff to drive us to and from the hospital. The staff subsequently made zero effort to conduct any repairs or maintenance on the pool tiles, even after our daughter's mishap. After about 7 days they placed several dirty old bricks at the bottom of the pool to cover up the broken tiles FFS!! ||Give this joint a miss and spend a little bit more on a nicer place just South along Legian beach. I walked South along the beachfront from the Puri Naga to the Hard Rock cafe/hotel (very near to the beachfront shopping mall) comfortably in 30 minutes and I took note of numerous popular hotels/resorts with beach front views to choose from. The Puri Naga cops the stink of the nearby canal/open stream (what seems like an open sewer) running into the ocean. We would look elsewhere next time, either further South near Legian beach or North around Seminyak beach.||The Puri Naga location is quite good, however due to the lack of bathroom cleanliness, the absence of proper pool maintenance and the constant smell of the canal/stream we CANNOT...

Has to be the worst hotel we have ever stayed at. Listed as 4 star and it really isn’t even 2 star! It was absolutely filthy. We had 2 rooms and the weeds in the garden on our arrival told me this wasn’t going to be good. I asked the staff to come and clean the terrifying bathrooms and they made a very meek effort. 2 showers, 2 toilets and only 1 of each worked, next day no toilets worked. Do not believe the lovely photos! Room stunk of damp, the filth was dreadful, mosquitoes everywhere, cloudy pool with broken tiles and views of derelict scary buildings unused pool bar, algae ridden pond with poor goldfish covered in ulcers & growths. I can’t believe we stayed 2 nights before bailing and reneging on our last 3 nights. Yes it’s near the beach but really who cares when you feel nauseous staying at this hotel? AVOID!
Great Authentic Vibe & Atmosphere!
Our first accommodation on our trip and initially our room wasn’t too great but the staff were fine with moving us to a better one. The pool is lovely and the restaurant setup is really appealing. Breakfast is minimal but nice. Staff are very friendly and hard working. The gardens are really lovely and the authentic Indonesian style is very appealing. We will return for sure.
I Wish My Room Looked Like That Photo!
Yeah, it wasn’t great. It is cheap and I guess you get what you pay for but it wasn’t anywhere near as nice as the photos. Tiny room, so small my adult son went and stayed at a friends so I would have more room! Just off Queen St which you think would be good until you see how many homeless have taken over the area, such a bad look for Auckland! I was glad to leave and...
Read moreThe rooms were a little old but a good size. Beds were comfortable and the air conditioners worked well. 2 out of the 3 rooms we had didn't have hot water in the showers but that didn't really bother us.Legian beach is right across the road from the hotel, which is situated in north Legian getting towards Seminyak.Shopping and eateries are close by. Best to head up Double 6 (the road the hotel is on) and then head right either at the first turn which takes you towards the Jayakarta Hotel or continue on up Jalan Legian and then turn right. ||For a fun night out there are a few diverse offerings close by. Friday and Saturday night the "Beach Shack" (on Jalan Legian - turn right off double 6)does a drag caberet show which is pretty entertaining. There is another place called Frankensteins which we didn't actually eat at, but had a quick drink. All the staff were dressed in goulish costumes and looked like it would be great fun(a little bit similar to Draculas on the Gold Coast - although probably not as professionally done). ||Head down to the beach on dusk for a cold Bintang and a beautiful sunset.||The pool was adequate. The breakfast was pretty basic- a choice of Continental toast and eggs or asian noodles or rice. Overall it is a good hotel for those on a limited budget. Also if you are staying here the Naga Mart at the front of the hotel is open 24 hours and guests of the hotel...
