Let's talk about Pro and Against. PRO: the position. Located on the Positano beach, it offers good logistical support. AGAINST: paying more than € 320 for a SINGLE summer night would be normal if the service matched what was spent. The staff was courteous but the residence makes use of 70s rooms, a shared kitchen, beds not really comfortable and, for the rooms facing the mountain side, a mountain wall outside the window (1m). Not exactly what you expect for the money spent. Apart from the fact that the bathroom was keyless and some light didn't work. Sums up ... the cost of the room is quintupled only for the position in which it is locate. Tornando a noi.... I booked months in advance. I was emailing or whatsapping someone I let them know I’m bringing my dog. I also sent them pictures of the property and asked them what room is this because that’s the view I want. They told me superior vista con mare or something I don’t remember. Months go by I show up to the establishment and they don’t have my room available, and lady says that’s not even caravella (I think she’s lying) gave me some other room. They have a room with two floors that has open stairs to get to bed….hello I have a dog he’s gonna fall off that and die or something. I had a huge fight with lady there and I also called the number and they said they had nothing for me that day but next day they did. But I am totally booked with tours. I have to leave around 6am in the morning. I can not leave my dog alone in that room..he can break his neck/leg/etc and literally die. I ended up booking a different hotel in Amalfi. Caravella positano better give me back my refund because I have proof of what room I asked for…and not only was it not that room but my dog can die or break his neck falling off the stairs of the room that they did give me while I go on my tour… the lady on the phone tried to lie and say the room I want doesn’t allow dogs but I already spoke to someone who knew I had a dog and that I wanted that room and they didn’t mention anything about dogs not being allowed in that room. All in all…I was literally left stranded at this place after spending hours getting there and lugging around my carry on and my dogs carry on…traveling with luggage in positano is beyond horrible and I did all that and I’m tired and spent and just to come in late at 7pm and be met with my room not being available and I was totally upset and crying after. I am so glad I booked another hotel in Amalfi residenza Gabriella sole raffelo or something right by the beach and allows dogs. The lady on the phone there was so nice to me and stayed later until I got there a little past 10pm. Her kindness literally melted my stress away. I am so happy with that hotel room. It’s large room, bathroom, older/ornate looking furniture. They saved my life while caravella positano really messed everything up. Do not recommend!!

Words cannot describe our experience at La Caravella Positano. It was fantastic. When we arrived, we were kindly received by dear Mrs. Rosa. She is really kind and very funny. Our check-in went super fast. When we arrived at our suite, we couldn't believe our eyes. Very authentic Italian furnishings. The beautiful tiles in our suite really gave us a holiday feeling. The suite itself was so spacious. An upper and lower floor. The bed was great. I sleep better here than at home. Also above a toilet, really mega luxurious. Everything we needed was in the suite. Pans, cutlery, towels, soap, dryer and so on. And a lovely spacious balcony where we often sat in the evenings to eat fruit with a GREAT view of the sea. Wifi signal is also strong, I was able to make video calls with my family while I was on vacation. The cleaners cleaned every day, we received new towels and a new bed cover. Very hygienic. The hotel is also just a few meters from the beach. This was also the reason I booked here because all other hotels require you to walk 1 million stairs. Absolutely not at La Caravella Positano. You can be in the water in no time and back at your hotel in a few seconds. They also have private beds for the beach, it couldn't be better. I have had a lot of contact with Mario via email. A super nice man, who responds very quickly to emails. He gave me lots of tips and suggestions for activities, restaurants & much more. He can also arrange everything for you (taxis, etc.). Mario is really a great person. Our 7 day long stay was perfect thanks to Rosa & Mario & La Caravella Positano. You are a dream! I really recommend this hotel.

A few days before our arrival we got a message from the property manager that the bathroom in our room was being repaired so they moved us to a “4 star hotel where we would have a suite with ocean views” for one night. We were like, ok that’s fine until we got to the hotel they had us stay at: the royal positano. There were ants all over the bathroom, the AC was leaking all night, and we did NOT have an ocean view. We complained to the royal Positano that this room was definitely not worth the same as La Caravella which we were paying 900 euros for a night. We called the property manager of La Caravella and he proceeded to hang up on us multiple times and cancel our Booking.com reservation so that we would lose all the messages between the hotel and us. We talked to the Royal Positano and they told us that La caravella was paying them 450 euros a night for our room while we were still paying 900 euros. The reason we booked la caravella was because of its location right on the beach. They moved us to a hotel super high up and said that they compensated with free breakfast and 24 hr front desk. Our experience with the property manager of la caravella was horrific and I would never recommend anyone to stay there because of that reason. He was rude and dishonest. Once we got to la caravella we were fine, we knew that the property was older and not updated. The bed was not comfortable, though the location was great and we had an ocean view room. We did not feel comfortable leaving any of our belongings in the room so we locked everything in our suit cases. We were here for our Honeymoon and this really left a bad taste in our mouth When we got home we got charged AGAIN the full amount for the 3 nights because since the hotel cancelled booking.com charged us a No Show fee even though we did stay there. So now we have to deal with that. I recommend that no...
