It's a great place for kids just to play and experience the Italian culture just by mixing with peers. Everything has an English translation (although sometimes a bit tricky to follow but that's a minor thing), the staff are very happy to help and explain. They need to do some 'jobs' to earn money to pay for the play and I have never seen them happier 'working.' There's also just playing. I guess it's a bit difficult to explain to the smaller children that they need to let others 'earn by playing', so turn taking may be difficult to implement but it mostly worked. There are also machines and props used for a fun ways of presenting the professions, emotions and a household budget. Or they can just climb the walls. There is also a playground outside. There's a pizzaria on the premises that is a good value and has many choices. The pizzas were bigger than their plates and it all ended happily. The pizzaria closes at 3.30 pm, same as many eating places in Italy do, so eat on the way in! The play session is 1 h 45 min, we were delayed by the pizzas for 15 min and it was still plenty of time. Highly recommended and suitable for a mix of ages which is often...
Read moreMy daughter and I were visiting Rome from the U.S. Based on the reviews, I was skeptical but happy that I chose to come. After a long day of sightseeing the day before, I was looking for a more child-friendly activity to take my daughter on our last full day in Rome. We arrived 30 minutes before our time slot and played on the outside zip line until it was time. As a mom, I enjoyed a delicious and cheap cappuccino. When it was our time to enter, it was an hour and 45 minutes of non-stop running around, learning, and exploring. My daughter really enjoyed herself (she’s 9), and didn’t become board. The allotted time was sufficient enough, and because they only sell a certain amount of tickets per time slot, this leaves for plenty of room for children to play without it feeling over crowded. If you’re visiting Rome and need a kid-friendly spot—away from touring all the historical sites, certainly...
Read moreWe visited Explore with our two kids (5 and 2) as our last stop in our week-long Italy tour and we are so glad that we did! It was so well organized, clean, and efficient and our kids had a blast! Hearing all of the children and families chattering and enjoying themselves in a variety of languages was enriching and exciting and it proved that languages are not a barrier to kids who are just looking to have fun! As a former teacher, I was also impressed by how many practical life skills were imparted in each play and discovery area. The area my kids loved most revolved around the supply chain and the steps to collecting, utilizing, and recycling materials and I was blown away by the intricacy and simplicity this station displayed. Would definitely recommend Explora as a stop in your Rome tour if...
