Jewish Museum — Attraction in Rome

You have to book the tour at least a week in advance but it was definitely worth it and our guide Samuel was an expert in Jewish history. It was a real honour to have a tour of the museum and the synagogues with an actual member of the ancient Roman Jewish community as this really brought the exhibitions to life. You can’t go inside the synagogues unless you’re on a tour but to be honest you really do need a guide to explain the architecture and the design of the building. This fascinating and lovingly curated museum chronicles the Jewish faith and in particular the Jews of Rome, a community that’s been in Rome for over 2000 years and have survived being locked in the flooded and unsanitary ghetto for hundreds of years, the Holocaust, and a terrorist attack. Entrance for religious Jewish is forbidden?! My friends just arrived in Israel from that place. Today the guard did not allow him to enter inside. My friend has paid 11 euro ticket, but the guard had blocked the door and had told him to come back at 19h because according his opinion ( the opinion of the guard) my friend "is going to pray". He had not going to pray but the guard had not allow him to enter because my friend is religious. Can you imagine that? Who is that guard? Who gave him this job? Why is this discrimination? Durante la mia visita a Roma, ho avuto il privilegio di esplorare il Museo Ebraico di Roma, situato nel suggestivo quartiere ebraico, vicino alla storica sinagoga della città.
