Cute restaurant on the Tiber River Island. There are several rooms of seating inside and two seating areas outside--a small one in front for coffee or gelato and a large one to the side with the piazza for meals. We ate lunch. I had the lamb which was a HUGE plate of lamb cooked wonderfully and potatoes that were amazing. I wish I could have eaten more! Service was excellent. The server was very welcome and spoke English well. We were served right away--it was the end of November so it wasn't crowded. We walked here during one of our roaming days in Rome and enjoyed walking along the river and across the bridges. There is parking next to the restaurant in the piazza but it is very limited, even Vespa and motorcycle could not find a spot.

All the dishes we ordered here was delicious. The rigatoni with pomodoro sauce had one of the best simple sauces we had all trip. It was clearly made from fresh, sweet, and slightly tart tomatoes. The spaghetti special with shrimps was full of seafood flavor while the raw shrimps were super fresh, sweet, and rich. The poached egg with cheese sauce and octopus were both unique starters we didn't see on other menus and had to try them. They were both good as well. What really stood out was their friendly, attentive, and earnest service. The ambience of this place was really interesting as it's the only restaurant on the island. There was also a "night market" along the river just steps away which made a nice after-dinner stroll.

Had the distinct misfortune of choosing Tiberino’s for dinner tonight — a decision I now deeply regret. Our waiter, Aman/Nahid (still unclear, possibly both?), cheerfully asked us to leave a review. — here it is. The restaurant was half full.

Unfortunately, every aspect of this meal was subpar. The restaurant is set up in what is essentially a parking lot next to a bridge. Tables are placed directly on uneven, cracked asphalt, making them unstable and uncomfortable throughout the meal. The chairs and table legs often sank into the cracks in the road, and the overall setup felt more like a temporary street stall than a proper dining environment.

Cleanliness was also an issue. Our silverware was dirty, and the tablecloth was stained — both of which were immediately off-putting. The atmosphere wasn’t much better. We were seated between a large dog on one side and a group of smokers on the other, which made enjoying our meal nearly impossible.

The food was another major disappointment. It was slow to arrive, and when it did, it was either overcooked or undercooked. The sea bass was undercooked and placed on top of cold, heavily spiced potatoes. Most dishes were far too salty to enjoy. The drink I ordered was poorly mixed, with no clear flavor or balance — it felt like random alcohol had just been poured into a glass without care.

Service was inattentive and slow. Our small table became cluttered with dirty dishes that were never cleared, and after we asked for the check, it took over 30 minutes to arrive.

I would not recommend Tiberino’s to anyone. There are many restaurants in the area, just across the bridge, that offer better food, better service, and a far more pleasant atmosphere. This was easily one of the worst dining experiences I’ve...

We came here because reading reviews that the service was great, but must have been with one server only cause our server was not very helpful, we had to tell someone else we were ready to order after 20 minutes, then we still had to wait even more just to get water. The people bringing the food were super nice but the waiter was almost ignoring us. Halfway through dinner I even ordered a second glass of wine, which never came, then when the waiter saw the plates clear and that we were just sitting for another 15 minutes he finally asked about my wine that never came, I just told him to not to worry about it now. Then he went on a smoke break and we had to have someone else bring us our check. Not the experience you expect for the...
