DO NOT GO HERE!! BAD HYGIENE & WILL MAKE YOU SICK!! Found this place on Google when looking for a sandwich shop near me, and unfortunately didn’t read the reviews first. We walked in and neither the owner or the girl working the sandwich station greeted us so we stood for a bit, not the biggest deal but not very friendly. Once we got our sandwiches we went to the back area with tables and asked if it was fine to sit down, the man working back there didn’t respond but some customers also eating back there said it was fine to eat there. The man working came up to us glaring after we sat down & said we had ten minutes to leave. We just left immediately bc it was very rude & strange considering there were other customers eating there. Also, there was still 3-4 open tables. Once we left i checked reviews & saw several comments about the man in back being racist towards customers. My boyfriend is Colombian so I’m not sure if thats why he told us we had a time limit, (i am white & the other people back there eating were also white) but it was just rude. I also saw many bad reviews about bad hygiene practices, which we also noticed after walking to the back. Smelled strange, and there was cheese just sitting out to sample. It’s currently been 2 hours and we have both been experiencing stomach pain/rumbling, hoping it doesn’t lead to food poisoning before our flight tomorrow. Save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere, we ate at a similar place near the Trevi yesterday and it was amazing with great customer service!! Also got soooo much more for our money, here it was €33 for 2 sandwiches & 2 canned...

L’Antica Salumeria: A Hidden Gem for Meat Fiends and Wine Buffs

Nestled in one of Rome’s most touristy hotspots, just a stone’s throw from the Pantheon, L’Antica Salumeria might look like your average deli from the outside—but step in, and you’re in for a treat. This isn’t just a place to grab some fancy ham; it’s a full-blown Italian food experience.

From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by a glorious sight—prosciuttos dangling from the ceiling, wheels of Parmigiano-Reggiano stacked like edible gold, and shelves brimming with some of Italy’s finest wines. It’s a carnivore’s paradise, a cheese-lover’s dream, and quite frankly, a place you might struggle to leave.

Take a seat, and let the feast begin. Their charcuterie boards are the stuff of legend, piled high with top-notch Italian meats—think melt-in-your-mouth porchetta, fragrant finocchiona, creamy mortadella, and fiery nduja—alongside a cracking selection of cheeses. And, of course, what’s all that without a glass (or bottle, we’re not judging) of wine? Whether you’re in the mood for a bold Barolo or a refreshing Vermentino, they’ve got you covered.

So, whether you fancy a quick aperitivo or a full-blown banquet, L’Antica Salumeria serves up the best of Italy in a warm, no-fuss setting. Next time you’re in Rome, don’t just amble past—pop in, grab a glass, and treat yourself to a taste of...

🚨🍔 TOURIST TRAP!! I wanted a good sandwich so I decided to try this place as I was visiting around. They told me it was €3 per 100gr, but when I tried to pay they said it was more than €30! Luckily, my bank rejected the payment (I still don't understand why, but I'm happy about it). 💳💵 When the payment was rejected, the lady tried to charge it at any cost. She insisted that I should try with another card or pay with cash. With her expression you could tell how expert she is in what she does. I lied about not having cash. 👉 Just to make it clear, I didn't eat the sandwich. They just put the meat in the bread and I was paying to take it with me. Then, I left to another place. 👎 I saw they had a good score, without reading the reviews. BIG MISTAKE! I read them later and I saw that other people had the same "problem" (*cof, cof, scam*) and many others, such as not getting the change with excuses or even getting mocked. PLEASE READ THEM! 0️⃣⭐ I'm surprised about their good score. More people who felt scammed should write a review! I'm Italian, and I'm embarrassed for what they are doing. Still enjoyed Rome, but maybe because my card was rejected. 😅
