【the kind】Organic bulk shop — Attraction in Kyoto

Wow! What a treat! the kind bulk shop has organic nuts, seeds, mixes, teas, herbs and more! Plus the ability to make ground nut butter! We got a bunch of bulk nuts and mixes for our travels. It is attached to their amazing and delicious vegetarian/ vegan/ plant based cafe. The shop is light and bright. The shop and cafe is a mother daughter duo Ki is the mom and Yuka is the daughter they are so sweet, helpful, outgoing, kind and engaged. Both speak English and Japanese (maybe more languages? I didn't ask). The food is absolutely amazing! Everything was absolutely perfect! I feel so special to have found this spot. Thank you Ki and Yuka!...

This family-run vegan restaurant is incredibly welcoming! It is owned by Ki, her two daughters: Yuka and Haruka (and her husband Simon lol.) Every dish feels thoughtful and nourishing, made with the kind of care only a family kitchen can offer. My mom and I came here after spending a week eating a bunch of fried foods so it was quite refreshing!

Alongside the comforting meals, you’ll find shelves of Japanese dried fruits and grains, kintsugi goods and even classes that Haruka teaches herself. It’s more than a restaurant, it’s a place where food, art, and family come together...

During my 3 months stay in Kyoto, I discovered the Kind organic bulk shop, which quickly became a favorite. The aroma of freshly ground nut butters greeted me, and I indulged in their creamy peanut butter and delightful cashew butter.

The real highlight was their impressive selection of high-quality, organic dried fruits and nuts, all sold by weight in a zero-waste setup. As a health-conscious traveler, I appreciated their focus on preservative-free products and sustainable practices.
